After a couple of days recovering from a summer cold and getting through the "take a deep breath and cough up pieces of your lungs for the next half hour" phase of recovery I had a picture perfect ride today.
Remarkably the temperature was in the mid 80's, the relative humidity was only about 40% and there was no wind. After 4 days of sleeping and taking it easy and gulping cough medicine, I woke up feeling perky and energized and eager to ride.
All I can say is that when the riding is good in Texas, it is very very good and when it is bad, it is horrid.
At 38 miles in 2 hours 15 minutes and an excellent iced coffee at mile 28, today it wasvery, very good.
