I can't wait for fall to come although in Texas, all it means is that the grass turns browner than it has been, the humidity drops from 80%+ to 60-70&, the headwinds pick up, and the temps cool slightly. Part of the temperature drop come because of the clouds the fall rains bring and sometimes it will even get down to the 40's at night.
I miss the smell of autumn leaves.

We are supposed to get down to -4C tonight in Edmonton. Thankfully I am escaping to Seattle for the weekend!
CC, I'm looking forward to hearing about your summer adventures! Provided me wih some nice visuals during the long winter doldrums.

We had a really rough summer---I'm glad to see it go---I hope it is nicer when it gets to you, and even nicer when it gets back up here!
Cheers!

I suspect some of the kiwi's are also wishing that summer is on it's way considering the storm that's hitting New Zealand at the moment...
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the temperature dropping here in Honolulu......apparently winter here is like Auckland's summer :) :) Looking forward to it being cooler enough to enjoy cycling
Ha, yes! Given the gale Northwesterlies that have been hitting Wellington today (and are supposed to continue tomorrow) I'm not so sure I'm going to be heading out on a training ride tomorrow. However with training underway for a 160km ride in November (Lake Taupo) I can't really afford not to do something. So I'm going to ride if it's not too dangerous, but I'm booked into a spin class just in case!

Give me summer back! While the cooler temps are nice, I know what is coming...

I was even thinking that it would be great to have a proper winter with piles and piles of snow and no inversion which is the local word for a choking, sun-blocking, nuclear-winter-like smog.

Inversions were the reason we left Arizona; I was sick as hell with asthma. I'll take the 4 seasons and winter any time over that.

pre-bike I welcomed the advent of fall because that meant the summer heat and humidity was drawing to a close...for the first time as an adult I am actually a little sad to see the season change - though welcoming the cooler temps (and hopefully the end of the dreaded heat rash...)
I seem to be starting to define my life as before-bike and with-bike :D

Today feels like the first day of fall. I do like winter biking, though, so I'm not too bummed.

Well it's definitely spring here in Wellington. I rode for two hours and threw in three big hills. It was blustery but not too bad, sunny and fairly mild. I ended up doing the spin classes yesterday. With the predictions still being for severe gales i didn't really want to chance being blown off my bike. However I don't think it got as bad out there as they were predicting, and I'm sure I've ridden in worse. Better to be safe than sorry I guess.
