I emailed them about discount codes & received a reply almost immediately.

She stated that I will receive a discount code for my 2nd order after placing my 1st order & also that they are planning a free shipping spree in October.

My question is this, for those of you who have ordered before & received the code, is it worth waiting for? I am new to cycling and I've been researching for 2 weeks and have quite a few items I'm interested in ordering from both Terry Cycling & TE. Should I order something small first & wait for the code to get the rest? Also, does TE offer free ship or discount codes?

Thanks for the help gals!

Lucky you. I've been a loyal Terry customer for years and I've never gotten a discount code! I watch out for their sales but usually, the color I want or my size is sold out by that time. :(

I've had good experiences with both TE and Terry. Have to say that TE's customer service is much better than Terry's. Even though TE is on the other side of the country, I get my TE orders faster than my Terry orders (I'm in the DC metro area and Terry is somewhere is NY). TE also will give you freebies w/your order---cool post its, once even a temp tattoo.

If you decide to buy shorts from Terry, size down. They started making their sizes run larger this year.

Remember that you can get Terry brand items for a smidge less at TE (unless Terry is having a sale). Terry jerseys are my favorite. Even though I like both TE and Terry, of the two, I have to say that I prefer TE---better deals, especially the sale/clearance; better selection; excellent customer service; etc.

I agree with mickchick cant beat TE for customer service and speedy delivery. I give them the big thumbs up.

I just wanted to clarify that I didn't get the impression that the 2nd order discount code was anything special for me. In fact, it appears that this is common practice for any first time customer. Perhaps she is attempting to encourage returning customers?

I apologize if I gave the impression that it was something special for me alone.

Edited to add: I am ordering the majority from TE, the only items that I plan to order from Terry Cycling are not available from TE.

Although this is the TE forum, I hope I don't get into deep doo-doo for posting that I've made quite a few purchases through Performancebike.com with a 20% off coupon for orders over $79 AND 99 cent shipping - in the past few weeks, I've saved a ton. They allow you to combine the coupons, and the shipping has not been any slower than any other orders I've placed with different online stores.

If anyone's interested in the coupon codes, I'll post them here (if it's okay - mind you, I'm still new to this forum so I want to make sure I'm using proper forum etiquette!!). Let me know.

TE is by far my favorite. I can order something on Monday and have it Tuesday and I'm on the east coast. It's almost instant gratification and certainly easier than finding stuff in any of the shops around here where woman's biking clothes are pretty scarce.

I went on a little shopping spree this week and placed orders with Performance, TE and Terry. TE charges the least amount of shipping and in my experience ships the fastest. Performance charged me tax on my shipping, which I think is just wrong and charged four dollars more for shipping. Terry charged two dollars more for shipping than TE. My Performance order was placed on 9/8 the TE and Terry orders on 9/12 I would bet that the TE order arrives first but will be happy to let you know what comes first. In my experience of internet shopping (which is vast I'm sad to admit) TE is the best on shipping prices speed and service on returns.

Jones -

Performance offers 99 cent shipping on orders over $75 with coupon code 100200. The coupon code for 20% orders over $75 is 6001231. My last order with Performance (w/ both coupons) took 6 days total shipping (including the weekend). I reside in Miami and the order was shipped from PA.

I did get the 20% off coupon but missed the .99 coupon, charging me tax on shipping just really bothered and when I called to ask about it the women was rather snarky with me. So my first choice for all thinks cycling is TE, plus I love to support independent business and women owned business.

I just ordered some Terry products ( 2 commuter skorts ) and the service was fantastic. I called in and they helped me out heaps! No discounts but I ordered the 3 day shipping and I got it the next day, I live in the Metro dc area and I think that they are based in NY. Let me tell you that I am enjoying my new threads! :p

All My orders have arrived, Yeah! TE ordered on 9/12 arrived before noon on 9/15 Terry, ordered on 9/12 arrived before noon on 9/16 and Performance ordered on 9/8 arrived before noon on 9/17. Everything I ordered is exactly as described and I am quite pleased.

I placed a large order with Performance a few weeks ago, I was charged a bunch for shipping plus sales tax. The order took 13 days to get to my house with no mention of a backorder (since they chose to hit me up for sales tax maybe they could have shipped the goods from in-state?). I emailed my displeasure to Performance as well as my reasons for no longer doing business with them. As I told them, there are too many good compaines trying to earn my business (like TE) to spend my money with a company that seems to have lost their customer focus.

I'm a big TE fan, and I have also ordered items from Terry, Performance, Bike Nashbar, etc over the years, but I've always been most impressed with TE's quality, speedy delivery (even though I'm in nearby Seattle area) and most of all, I want to support TE for providing us this outrageously awesome forum!
That's my $.02!

I've ordered from both TE and Terry and because of the cost of my order they ship quickly. I've also recieved a Terry discount towards my second order, but there's practically nothing for me to order until to wear for the winter. I guess I will be riding butt-naked through Southwestern PA this winter.

However, the discount is already included in TE costs so I shop here first. Afterwards I get directly from Terry what's not here.

Now to find some 4XL winter clothing. I've been to EMS and REI for clothing. Any suggestions ladies where I can get some winter duds for my morning rides at -60 degrees?
