Since it's summer, I've averaged 330 miles a month for the last three months. With the days shortening, that will start to taper off after October when i'll ride when I can!
I can't really give a per ride average - my commuter gets ridden more days a week than my other bike, but my Fuji sees more miles per ride than the commuter. I guess I'm lucky since I ride for transportation AND recreation! :)

I average about 25 miles 3 - 4 times a week (sometimes longer - up to 50), It comes out to between 60-100 miles a week. I've only been riding about 1 1/2 years. My first road/hybrid bike (Specialized Vita) had about 1500 miles on it when I sold and replaced it with my road bike (Specialized Ruby). My Ruby has about 2800 miles on it now. It's hard to believe that I am capable of this! I had not ridden a bike since I was in my 20's (I'm 58 now). My physical condition is so much improved. I feel like I'm 40. I'm not rushing to train for centuries, although I think I will be able to work up to a metric century soon. I think I could do it now if it was somewhat flat. Since there are so many hills in the Santa Cruz Mountains, I've never really done any flat rides.

I generally ride twice per week during spring, summer and fall. Weekday post-work ride is usually anywhere from 10-25 miles, depending on what kind of shape I'm in and when the sun sets. This is usually a very hilly ride. Weekend ride is longer -- 30-70 miles. Most weekend rides are 40-50 miles.
I don't ride more because I try to get in cross-training, including weight training 2x per week.

I'm managing about 30 miles a week but I'm working loads at the moment. When things calm down with work I'll try to get more in. I tend to do 2 short rides during the week, and one on a Sunday morning.
I wish I could do more! All I seem to do is work, eat, sleep and repeat these days!

I try to ride 100 miles per week year round. There tends to be about 6 weeks that I don't even come close due to weather, but most of the time, I'm within 10%. I very, very rarely ride over 40 miles in a day.

my commute (3 times a week right now ) is 8 miles. Then I do a longer ride on saturday or sunday. This week it was 50 miles...
I don't always do a long ride on the weekend.
I asked to make sure i am riding enough. I ride 4 days a week and have worked up to 30 miles a day. I feel like i should be going faster than i ride and i can't break my average of 15-17 mph. Any suggestions?

This year during warmer cycling season has been less than last year: average of 200 kms. per wk.
Last year I was averaging 250-260 kms. per wk.
Then in winter it drops as low as 40-50% per wk.
I wondered briefly why I had stretched bike chain and worn gears. Yea, right: dummy me with all this riding..

Well you're faster than I'll ever be.
"Enough" is what you want it to be. If you're trying to race, that's one thing. If you're training for a specific event, you also should have a plan. If you're just having fun, then ride when and how much you want.

This is my first season riding, ever, so each month I am riding more than the month before. Right now I am averaging between 100-150 miles a week, and try to ride 4-5 days a week. Only one long ride a week though, the other days I ride between 20-35 miles each depending on how much time I have.

I am just into my second year of riding (since July 2009). Since getting up to speed in the fall, I usually get 100 miles a week, +/-. I try to find time for 2 mid-week rides of 10-20 miles, a 20 mile commute on Fridays, and at least one longer ride (35-50) on the weekends. I am getting ready for El Tour de Tucson this year, and would like to ride the full 109 miles, so I am expecting my miles to go up to 125-150 per week as it gets closer.
My speed has increased from 12.5 to nearly 15, occasionally 16-17 if it's not on a route with big hills or if I ride with a group. I would like to be a little faster, but I think it would take committing myself to being more serious about incorporating intervals, and I'm not sure how much I want to do that. I like enjoying riding.

My weekly mileage varies a lot, despite the fact that for the past five years I have had a total yearly mileage of between 2500 and 3000 miles. I was sort of hoping to hit 3k again this year, as I was ahead in my mileage, but the last 2-3 weeks I have slowed down due to weather, vacation, illness, and being back in class/internship. We will see.
I tend to do 1 long ride on the weekend and one shorter one. During the week, it really depends. Since I wasn't working this summer, I was doing 1 or 2 longer 30+ mile rides, plus maybe a short 15-20 mile ride. When I was teaching, I did a lot of short (13-16 mile) rides after work and I commuted 1-2 times a week for about 8 weeks, in the spring.
Next week my full schedule will kick in, and then I will see if I can reach my goal of 3k. Of course, doing a century might help... the last time I rode that much I reached 2500 by 10/7. Right now I am at 2200 or so, so I have some work to do. I know once November comes, I start transitioning to hiking, some riding outdoors, and awaiting the first snow for x country/snow shoeing.

200-250mi/week during the racing season. About 75 of these miles come in the form of intensity workouts or racing, 50mi of active recovery, and one long steady group ride/week (50-120mi). Since the racing season is winding down, so will my intensity. But that means that I will get to do more endurance rides and up my weekly mileage!!!! . . . it has been a long hard season, and while I have enjoyed every minute of it, I am sooooo looking forward to some long relaxing rides in the countryside :-)

I ride between 500 and 700 miles a month; just a bit under 5000 total miles for this year, so I will probably reach 6000 miles for certain before the end of the year. I also work out at the gym for core and weights, walk, hike, jog at the college track now and then, sometimes I do cardio machines at the gym ... It was hard to achieve the level of cardio endurance that I now possess, and I don't want to lose it, so I keep going, even in the cold and rain. I am trying my hardest to burn off the last of the excess body fat I have and it isn't coming off easily, but I remain motivated. By 2013 I would love to do the charity park-to-park tour in Montana sponsored by CASA, but I need to weigh less to do that amount of climbing over one week.

Ride somewhere flatter than where you live ;). All kidding aside, I have ridden out in the western part of the state, and it is pretty hilly compared to the metro burbs. i don't think there is anything wrong with your average speed!
Personally, I ride anywhere between 120 - 200 miles per week, especially during race season. With 'cross season starting, the mileage will go way down, but the intensity will go way up. All that said, I am 1500 miles ahead of where I was last season, and on target for my biggest mileage year ever (likely to hit 6000+ by the end of the year). I also ride almost every day...

As you see from the responses, there's a huge range of miles ridden, and speed, and there's no universal right or wrong number. If you're enjoying being on the bike, you're doing it right.
My weekly 100 miles is not random. I discovered that if I ride more than that, I feel really tired all the time. Less than that, well it's okay if I do a little less, but a lot less and I'm afraid of losing fitness, plus I like having something to aspire to. At this rate, I feel really great, and I have energy.
Speed I've given up caring about. I suspect I'm not slow because I pass more people than pass me, but it really doesn't matter if I'm fast (although I admit to occasionally riding so hard I almost puke, just to try to keep someone from dropping me). :D
Most of all, have fun. If it's not fun, why bother?

Like the others have stated - it depends on your goals and why you want to go faster.
My "average commuting" speed, hauling a load, and trying to go slow so I don't sweat on the way to work is around 15 mph.
When I'm group riding, as the leader (so I don't get to draft :( ) it's no drop so we have to keep the speed "moderate", but we have a pretty good group of regulars that come and we average 18-20mph, and our rides are usually 25-35 miles long.
This is my first year competing, and the tri's I've competed in have been short (less than 15 miles). I have focused on increasing my speed for that short duration, preferably on the courses since they're close to me. I have my last one in a week and a half, and the first time I prerode the course last week, I wasn't going all out as I was trying to get a feel for it first - I averaged 19mph. I'll try to get up to 20+ in the next couple days so I know I'll be fast on race day (the bike leg is my strength and I suck at swimming so I need to do well here!!).
I'm also trying cross racing for the first time this season, and like another poster, training will be more intense for a shorter duration since races are typically no longer than an hour, and only 30-45 mins for me as a beginner. I'll also focus on technique and bike handling skills.
If you want to be faster in general, intervals work well for that, hill repeats, and riding with people faster than you. It's just a matter of "why" you want to be faster and go from there.

Just started 2 months ago and ride 60 miles a week. Hope to start riding longer now that "hell" (AZ) is starting to cool off! :D

In July I had 800 miles, in August I rode 860 miles, so in the summer I average 200+ a week. I would say 100+ is more like it for the winter and "off" seasons.
