Shorts for a beanpole 9 year old boy?

Does anyone have any recommendations for cycling shorts that will fit a kid who is long everywhere, but SKINNY (50th percentile height and 10-25th percentile weight, generally)? Our tandem should be here in a few weeks and I think it would be nice if he had proper shorts to wear as soon as we have the bike.

TE has several children's shorts. Maybe call customer service and ask them?

I've only used their customer service once, usually just order online, but everyone raves about them, so I assume they'd give good advice?
