Are there any TE'ers who are Joan Baez fans? She's performing at the Strathmore on Wed., Oct. 27th at 8:00 pm. I'd love to attend and perhaps meet up with other Baez fans from TE.

I've never heard her in concert. I need to look into this. Are tickets still available?

Saw her 15 years ago at the Palao Solari (sp?) theater in Santa Fe. Amazing in concert. She had a band with her, but had to play solo because it's an outdoor theater, it was pouring rain, and the overhang over the stage wasn't working. So, after about an hour of waiting, she came out on the stage with a guitar and a microphone and said that hopefully the microphone was sufficiently shielded, but no other electricity/instruments were going to be allowed on the stage.
She was amazing. I'm almost glad for the rain, we in the audience totally didn't notice getting rained on as soon as she opened her mouth!

TsPoet, I know just what you mean, when Joan sings it's like the voice of an angel and you can get lost in it. I still have my ticket stub from when I first saw her at the University of Maryland in 1974.
