Drove right through an intersection where a cop in reflective gear was directing traffic, and there were several emergency vehicles present, at least one of them with the overhead lights going. :( :( The rider saw the truck and tried to evade, but couldn't.

On one level I'm praying this wasn't our own FlyingScot (FS, please check in if you're here) - but of course on another level it doesn't matter whether I "knew" the person or not.

We have two large bicycle events in Ohio. Three years ago someone was killed on TOSRV, and now this. :(

How horrible! And the driver of the truck is not charged......again.

They won't charge the driver until they've completed the investigation (including hopefully they've done a tox screen) and all the charges are ready.

Otherwise - this happened in a case a few years back - say they give him a ticket for ignoring the traffic cop, then he goes in on Monday morning and pleads guilty and pays the fine and the whole thing is double jeopardy.

FlyingScot just posted 'bout this here (http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=39364), so methinks she is OK:)

So very sad:(
