He makes some great tasty, creative dishes. Some dishes way tastier than others, even it might sound wierd.
For instance sample dishes he's invented:
*Blueberry salad dressing --with a touch of espresso powder. Actually tasty.
*Eggplant pannini sandwich with fresh basil, blue cheese and tomato. Yummy.
*Now, it's sauteed red beets, green beans..and abit of crumbled cheese. Not sure what the end result will be.

hey at least he cooks- now if he cleans up after himself and you don't want him, I'll take him and trade you a husband who doesn't cooks, clean or do laundry and an FIL who lives us who at 90 is no longer capable doing much of anything at all.

You work hard, marni.
Dearie has always been a natural neat freak. He cleans up. I'm the person that is sloppier. No, this was not a "special" meal by him or occasional supper. Cooking is loosely equally divided between us, with no real advance schedule. It's flying by the seat of our pants when it comes to meal planning. We each have our favourite/strength areas for preparing certain types of dishes.
Last night's home meal, was way too tart, he made balsamic based vinegar sauce with mint over sauteed beets and green beans. Thin slices of sauteed eggplant on side. With fresh light noodles on side.
Yea, I know. Wierd. I accept whatever creativity in the kitchen just as he accepts mine.
Most of his culinary inventions are successful.

actually it sounds delicious and colorful but maybe that's just me. both himself and FIL are very tolerant of the fact that all I willingly cook is chicken, fish, a salad and an occasional baked sweet potato. My salads which almost always contain 7-10 fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and or grains are probably pretty far out for most people.
