Hi there,

Didn't even get a chance to rack over 900 miles on this baby! Selling because I never joined a road team (the whole reason for buying it in the first place). I bought this new in 2008 from the Bicycle Station in Brooklyn, NY. If you're interested, I can send you the Craig's List link to see the full ad. Included is a basic saddle, Shimano spd pedals, some Fizik handlebar tape, a few tubes, and a Cateye computer. I would prefer a local pickup. If I were to have a LBS break it down and ship it, it will add about $75+ to your total cost. The bike retailed around $1200, not including all the extras, so the price is firm. It's a good deal; bike's never been in an accident, no dings or scratches, etc.

All sales final! I encourage you to email with questions.

Cheers!

That's a fantastic deal and Jamis is a good bike.
Somebody will snap that up.

Why, thank you! People here in NYC aren't taking the bait, though...maybe the recession has hit everyone a bit harder than planned?

Put it on Ebay.
That's how I sold my last bike. To someone in Brooklyn.

Try improving your ad a little bit with more information on the bike - noone is going to know the stats of the bike without looking it up - and going by the $1200 bike you're quoting it as new, people are probably not going to realize that this bike is ultegra level because most bikes at that price point are sora or tiagra.

Here it is new on sale for $1400. MSRP of the bike is $1475, so edit your ad to say that and not $1200 new.

Put that link in.

Here's the stats on the bike:
http://bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2008&Brand=Jamis&Model=Venture+Elite&Type=bike

Put that link in your ad and copy the stats - Make a big deal out of carbon fork & seatstays, and that it's full ultegra.

Honestly, I don't know why the bike isn't selling - because you should be able to get more like $800 for it.

Put in the title of the ad "Great for short people" - there are a lot of people that don't realize what size bike they're looking for - and I've had a lot of luck getting short women to buy my bikes doing that.

If I didn't already have 4 bikes, I'd be really tempted by this one. Good luck.

If I didn't already have 4 bikes, I'd be really tempted by this one. Good luck.

And if I didn't live in Europe, I'd be tempted too. $650 is almost criminal! ;) Good luck!

Wow, rockin' deal! I'd totally snatch it up if I was in the market for a new road bike.

Thanks for the tips, ladies, will def use them. Jamis bikes usually has the old model info online, but you're right, most won't read through that. I tried to sell it for $800 months ago and kept getting unbelievably insulting offers. I thought by keeping the price low I'd get a reasonable sale out of it, yeesh!

I would also try placing it in the classified section in the forums on the Beginner Triathlete website. There are tons of new triathletes just getting into the sport looking for used bikes and this would be perfect. I bet you would get quite a few bites over there.
