I think that my search for a saddle has ended :) 60 miles today on my new SI Lady Gel Flow - which translates to 4:47 in the saddle. No numbing on the sides, NO sore/swollen soft tissue, and not the slightest pain ANYWHERE! This is the first time that I can say that since my first ride that exceeded 22 miles.

I am a very happy woman indeed :D I know that as my mileage base gets larger that eventually something will enter the picture - can't spend 10 hours in the saddle without consequences of some kind - but I will certainly take this :) I think that 60 miles is an excellent saddle test! Lubrication helps a lot, but it won't cure a saddle that doesn't work for you - no matter how much you want it to...

Phew! I feel lucky that I found my perfect (or as near perfect as I can expect without custom) saddle on only the 3rd try! :)

That's right, OWLIE is responsible! Thank you, thank you, thank you for suggesting this saddle :D

I love my SI Lady Gel Flo also...however, I have developed a mean saddle sore right on the crease between my leg and crotch area on the left side. It's probably related to the way I sit on the saddle since my accident in '05 in which I fractured both the bones on the lower right side of my pelvis (pubic rami and ...?) I can't blame the saddle; it's really comfy, supports my sit bones perfectly, and so long as I pay attention while riding, I can keep the saddle sore from bothering me too much. But I really do want it to GO AWAY.

Glad it's working for you! 60 miles is indeed a good test!

Woo hoo happy dance! Finding the ONE is the most awesome thing! My suggestion, buy another and stash it away against the day the company changes the saddle. It's like death and taxes, you find IT only to find you can't get any more. I've got my favorite saddle on all 4 of my bikes, and an extra tucked in a drawer.

I intend on doing this - but it will have to wait until after my move this fall. I just went for my third ride in three days (100 miles total) and still NO discomfort, swelling, pain, numbness, nothing :D :D :D

So how is the saddle doing?

The saddle is still wonderful! Occasionally I seem to land on it a little sideways and things hit the edge of the cutout instead of in the cutout. This is a fit issue though - it happens rarely and I just shift myself into the right position. I have an appointment to get that addressed. Have put several hundred miles on this saddle and it is still totally discomfort and pain free. It is indeed, THE saddle for me :D :D :D

That is so great Catrin! I am intrigued. Maybe I need to try that saddle out as well :D
