So what is happiness to you?

Happiness is good coffee and leftover birthday cake for breakfast, followed by a call from the boyfriend "just to say hi."

being thankful I have all my limbs and can ride my bike, run and swim. After watching a show on TV about Iraq/Afghanistan vets who have lost limbs- I'm thankful every day I have my health.

Biking up to see baby hawks in the rain.
And remembering with a smile being raised by parents who didn't regard rain as a reason for staying indoors.

Happiness is Henry Kitty. DH and I have been loving on him even more than usual since saying goodbye to our other kitty last Sunday. Henry is a good salve for our sadness. He's the biggest love bug.

Happiness is...the opposite of what I'm feeling today. I can't wait for happiness to come back. I know it will. But today I am very sad.
Isn't it amazing how things can happen than make you so incredibly sad, and then the next thing you know, things happen than make you so incredibly happy? Although no one likes the sad part, it is pretty amazing that we humans are capable of such a range of emotion.

A very nice cool shower with some Irish Spring soap after a good, long, hot, sweaty, intense ride.
Showering after a workout is the BEST feeling for me.
Also when one of my kiddos cuddles on me and falls asleep. Being told how much I matter to my SO. Being told that I have big cahones. Boys struggling to keep up with me on my 250 motorcycle and they are on WAY bigger bikes when we are all out on a ride. (sorry for the convoluted sentence, I'm beat)

Congratulations to both of you! Clock - that is just great how that worked out, timing wise- you get cleared for an exercise bike and voila! One appears dirt cheap! Sweet!

My morning hike with the pooches.
Waking up each morning to my SO.
Snuggling with the cats.
Just hanging out enjoying the view from my deck.
Hearing about other people's good fortune and good luck.
...not necessarily in order of importance...

Being told I can drive again!
Being told I can take the brace off to shower!
Being told I can get in the pool (with brace on)!
Being told I can start taking the brace off for a couple hours a day starting in 2 weeks!
Being told I don't have to wait 6 months to try to run/bike/climb - just 2 more!
...so I can deal with the fact that I have to wait a whole year to snowboard again... :)

That is great Jess!!!!
Happiness is being able to go outside pretty much when I want to... I work in a nursing home and unfortunately several of these folks do not get out much and if they do it is on a limited basis.:( I value my ability/freedom to enjoy the sun on my face and to feel the breeze.

Happiness is spending a few days in a tiny, completely flat, bike friendly coastal town enjoying the marine air and playing in the water - freezing btw - even though it was overcast the whole time we were there.
Happiness is, also, showering after a long drive home with sand goddess knows where and snuggling up on the couch to read a book in the quiet of my own home. Ahh....

Changing my own flat so I could go mountain bike - alone! DH normally takes pity and changes them but I was at the trail alone so I had to do it myself. It held the whole ride, I felt so accomplished. :)

Hearing from my far away friend Jessmarimba and knowing she has got past the last 3 months after breaking her back and is making a good steady recovery.
It's funny how you can become friends with somebody who has had a similar accident to yourself, thousands of miles away but have such sympathy and empathy with them.
You are doing well Jesse. :)

Ach--my cousin broke her back in 1968 and she instantly bonds with anyone who has had a similar experience.
It's your BACK fer-cryin-out-loud!
Happiness is coming home after a weekend away to an otherwise cool and standoffish cat who is practically stumbling over her own feet trying to weasel her way onto your lap, purring and headbutting, when you sit down for dinner :)
