Have any of you spent this much? I live in southern California so everything here costs more. I am a new member of a cycling club and one of the members owns a bike shop. They do custom bike fits for $100. Has any of you done this and were you satisfied with the service?
Thanks for any and all replies!

I paid $200 and I an in Indianapolis! If the fitter knows his or her stuff, then it is well worth the money and then some to make sure you have a good fit - especially if you are experiencing pain or discomfort on the bike.
I am very happy with the results of my fitting. Then again, I have certainly physical issues that made it necessary.

I live in NC, and it is $125 - $150 for a bike shop to do a fitting on a bike you did not buy from them. Over $200 for a computerized fitting. $100 is well worth it for a good fitting bike.

I would start with: why do you think you need a bike fitting? Are you having problems with pain or discomfort while you're riding? Are you racing and hoping a better fit will improve your power transfer to the pedals?
I would also try to find others who have had bike fittings at this particular shop to see if they were happy with them.

I paid $100 to be fitted. It was totally worth it, the guy who did the fititng was very knowledgeable and shared tips for riding while he was doing the fitting. Don't forget to ask questions if you have any.
If I were to buy a new bike, I would definatley pay for the fitting again.

$100 is pretty reasonable, even cheap.... I'd say go for it!
But if you are not having any problems right now, it might not be necessary.

My road bike is custom. The fit was included and fit like a glove from the first.
Before that my first road bike (my namesake) was fit over time by the same LBS. There was lots of trial and error, replacement and adjustment, "*&^% my shoulders hurt, can we do something ?".
I learned a lot by that process but oh the painful rides to reach a customized fit.
Yes, fitting the bike is worth it. Go for it.

Thanks everyone for your input. I am going to get a fitting next week. Just want everything to go well on my first century ride event next month!
Thanks again!
