Hot and sticky today. (I stopped for a few minutes and my glasses fogged up!) 19.something miles this morning on a nice shady part of the trail. I now have a definite cyclist's tan! (No helmet straps/glasses tan, though--my face doesn't tan readily.) A peacock walked across my path. Yes, a PEACOCK. I think he lives on a farm nearby. Lots of butterflies of varying types. The usual goldfinches.
A good ride, though I spent it in an easier gear than I normally do. (The muscles around my knees are still a bit unhappy from my ride on Saturday.)

I'd love to see a peacock in person! Owlie, do you wear gloves when you ride? When I was riding after work, I would get a very dark biker's tan, complete with pure white hands and tanned finger tips!!
Started today with a very early ride---steamy warm, not overbearably humid, and peaceful. Did my usual weekday 30 miler. Got to the pool when they opened and slogged out a 3,500 yard swim.
Back to work tomorrow, unfortunately.....

I do wear gloves! I don't have the fingertip tan, at least not noticeably. My hands are definitely lighter than my arms. (My left arm also has a stripe from my watch band.) I also have something of a gradient on my arms and legs from the different-length sleeves and shorts...

I, too, did 19 miles this afternoon. The humidity here is unreal. It's usually bad, but the last week or two has been rain-forest bad. I can't even see most of the time while riding because sweat pours into my eyes. I was riding strong, but bonked hard 45 min. in and had to drag my sorry butt home at a snails pace (I've *never* bonked on anything less than a 40 mile ride). Crazy. I can't wait for winter (did I really just say that?). ;)
I've got to get one of those ridiculous sweat gutr's.
