A good friend who cycles often is having problems finding a size 35 cycling shoe. More mountain bike style.

She showed me her 15 yrs. old shoes! which she has used some sort of plasticizer glue to hold it together. It's a pair by Shimano. She's done cycle touring and camping on her own, can take apart and reassemble a bike, etc. So quite informed about bikes and long-timer cyclist.

She does not use clipless pedals..and isn't looking into this option right now.

She's searched around online, etc. But maybe someone here has recommendations to cut down on the search.

Most online places don't carry the smallest sizes... of course neither do most stores, but asking a store to order the smallest size in is usually possible. She might try Sidis. While they only go to a 36 they run small. I wear a 37 in Sidi, a 36 in Specialized or Shimano. In regular shoes I can wear from a 4.5 to a 5.5 depending on the manufacturer and whether or not I intend to wear them with socks.

Keen commuter sandals (http://www.keenfootwear.com/product.aspx?sku=5264) go down to US size 5 and claim to run small. Are those a possibility, or does she need closed toes for toe clips?
