I am shopping for a hybrid bike and was hoping for some tips!
I rode a Specialized Sirrus and a Raleigh Cadent FT1 today and liked them both better than the Trek FX I rode last week. I should be able to ride the Vita this week, but it's looking like the "mens" model is going to work well for me.
I'm leaning toward the Raleigh, but liked both bikes a lot...
Anyone know anything about the components? From what I can tell, the Raleigh has upgraded tires and rear derailer vs the Sirrus. It's only about $40 more, so I'm thinking it would be worth it. The seat seemed more comfortable to me too.
Does anyone have any Raleigh experience?

They look pretty comparable. Raleighs are great bikes, and so are Specializeds. I say go with whatever one your heart draws you to, and whichever one has the bike shop that you love the best- because the shop is almost as important as the bike purchase itself, IMO.
Best of luck. Let us know what you decide. :)
p.s. I think the Raleigh looks a little sleeker
I have last year's Raleigh Cadent. I have the women's version that they call Alyssa. I love it. I find it very comfortable. I have not had a problem with it. I highly recommend it!:)

we've had a lot of Raleighs. They make good bikes. Find one that fits you and go for it!

I have a vintage Raleigh that I love. Now, I know that there have been changes in the 30 plus years since I bought the bike, but it's at least a sentimental favorite around here.
Whatever bike you get, be sure it makes you smile. Life is too short to ride a bike that does not make you smile.

Oh, I like that!

I'm still waiting on the Vita (in my size) to come in so I can ride it. I am getting very anxious. I just want to buy a bike already!!!
I grew up in a troubled home and I always rode my bike to get out of the house. I remember the sense of freedom I felt riding away from it all... I still feel that way every time I ride a bike...
I've always had cheap mountain bikes, so all these bikes are making me smile. :D The decision is a little overwhelming, but I just look forward to getting a bike and riding it like I'm running away from something...

But I ended up getting a Specialized Vita Sport. The white/red/black one. I absolutely love it!
