Go Colby! You are an Iron Chick!

Go Susan! You have worked so hard for this HIM. You are going to rock!

Anyone else racing this weekend?

I'm doing a sprint tri on Sunday. It's the same course as the other sprints I've done. Although the swim may be longer than in those. It will be the first time I've taken the Cervelo on that course and I'm hoping to see some improvement in the bike time.

Yes! It is a huge weekend! I am thinking really good thoughts for everyone!!

I am doing a 5k open water swim sunday. It was a huge challenge last year, so I decided to give it a shot again this year. My overall fitness it much higher, but I am worried about the....well, length of the swim! It is not a very well marked course either, so you end up swimming farther than just 5K (at least I did last year!).

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

If you hit a low point in your races, listen really closely and you can hear us all rooting for you!

Wow, it looks like there are a TON of races this weekend of all shapes and sizes!

Regarding the 5k swim - a local swim team is putting on an open water swim sometime this summer, with varying distances. Something like 1k, 3k, 5k, and 10k! Holy crap, a 10k swim!! 5k sounds doable (albeit a little crazy). ;)

Good luck to everyone who is racing this weekend. Time to be awesome!! :D

Swim with guts, bike with courage, run with heart, finish with a smile? :)

Good luck and good weather to my teammate and anyone else doing the IM Coeur D'Alene.

Yes, lots of luck to Colby and Susan.

I'm doing a sprint on Sunday also, the same course as the two Irongirls I've done, but this one is coed. I've been sick all week, so it should be interesting.

MDHillSlug is doing the bike leg of a relay in the same sprint.

Wow, good luck to all of you racers this weekend! There should be lots of good reading on TE next week with all the race reports.

Me? I'm planting potatoes, harvesting peas and thinning carrots. No racing for me! :D

I'm doing the same tri as divingbiker, but as part of a relay team; I'm the biker.

I forgot the new sprint tri was this weekend--good luck to both of you, and to everyone else racing this weekend!

I'm wishing now I had signed up for the Celebration sprint. I didn't want to mess with the possibility of needing/wanting a wetsuit, but that's clearly not going to be an issue now. And I'm feeling ready--the last couple of weeks of training have gone well and now I just want to get on with racing. I was planning to get out to the course and do a bike/run brick tomorrow--I guess I'll try to get that out of the way before people show up to rack their bikes.

Lordy. On top of being sick this week, I just got stung by a bee on the bottom of my big toe. The universe does not want me doing this tri on Sunday.:eek:

DH is riding Blood, Sweat and Gears this weekend. I'm not (long story), but I'll be finding a lovely place to ride my bike nevertheless. We called a friend to let her know we were in town and she invited us to stay with her, so we're staying with her tomorrow night (we were already checked into a hotel tonight). Glad we're not subjecting her to the 5:00 wake up call we're getting!

I just checked her twitter feed. There's a photo of her running and she's wearing the Team Estrogen "She Loves Hills" jersey designed by Urlea. That is so cool. :D

I know people are huge fans of those things, but I simply can not fathom the beating a person's feet must take after 26 miles in them. My feet could never take it.

Saw Colby finish, it was awesome!!! :D

Such an honor to have you ladies training/racing in something I designed. Really humbling.

Did a 70.3 in the Yellow Jersey 2wks ago, worked great. http://minnefotamoments.com/cgi-bin/store/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Liberty_Tri_2010&image=lib_tri_3333.jpg&img=0&search=utecht&cat=all&tt=&bool=or&tfile=tn_lib_tri_3333.jpg&numtolist=24&sortfiles=1

Thank you ladies!! As I mentioned in the running forum a second ago, it was too warm for me after not having a lot of warm days - we had a long spring of many 60 degree days, few 70 degree days, and maybe one or two 80 degree days which were too late in my training to train distance in. I think a HIM would have been survivable at this temperature, but a full was too hard on me.

Based on my heart rate and comparing last year to this year, I easily could have cut off another 45-60+ minutes off of EACH of my bike and run times had it not been for all the taking it easy I did on the bike and walking I did on the run. I just wanted to persevere, and not be one of those people that looked like walking death, or was curled up from dehydration, or barfing in the grass, or had to have IV fluids. :p

I had at least a couple of compliments on the jersey, which I rode in and ran the second loop of the run in (after the shade settled in - I had to take it off on the first loop and carry it). Obviously I finished in it. :) It was light colored, fits well, I can reach the pockets, and it didn't chafe at all. Three thumbs up.

And, I was told I was the 4th "barefoot" finisher. ;)

I will put up more of a report later. Time for eating... sleeping... aloe on my sunburn... or something. I'm not really sure which. :)
