camping/cycling Oregon coast; cycling Mt. Vernon WA

My DH and I are about to embark on a 2 week ramble through northern California up to Washington. We are staying with friends much of the time, but plan to camp on the Oregon coast early next week- approximately midway between San Francisco and Olympia. Any recommendations on a good place to camp with an option to take a 20-40 mile ride before getting back in to the car?

Also, we will be based in Mt. Vernon, WA for 4 days- anyone have suggestions for rides in that general area?

there are lots of country roads between mount Vernon and La Conner that you will find very pleasant to ride on. During Tulip season, they are a major bike happening!
