It's been a good week for cycling in our household. First, I got back on my bike yesterday for the first time since my accident on Easter (which resulted in a tiny but painful fracture in my shoulder). The butterflies lasted for about half an hour. I felt surprisingly good climbing and then took it easy on the descent. My shoulder ached a bit on the descent (it was kind of bumpy and I was in the drops), but otherwise it was fine. Unfortunately, it is aching a lot more today, both around the fracture area and on the outside of my upper arm. Not sure what that means, but it sure felt good to be on the bike again.
Second, my husband bought a bike! He is in Seattle on business, and he took the bike box along just in case. He went for a Cervelo RS (http://www.cervelo.com/en_us/bikes/2010/RS/?bike=RS&year=2010) in black and gray, with a compact double. I haven't seen it yet, but I am so envious. Don't get me wrong--I love my Madone. But Cervelos are so pretty (and not available here, which is why I have a Madone). Can't wait to see it.
