Here are some photos from the wedding.
I have come to the conclusion that I am glad I have 2 sons!

Ah, but now you have a DIL...I'm sure you'll move into this next role with grace and dignity...I was not so fortunate with my MIL (who lacks any sort of grace and dignity, but that's an entirely different story).

Congratulations to the couple! They look very happy.

Yes, I was not as fortunate with my MIL, either. So, no matter what I think, I keep my mouth shut, or really think about how to say something.
They have actually been married for 9 months... this is the reception and "restating the vows" after the courthouse ceremony last September.
I made the comment about having sons because my DIL has 3 sisters and a niece. Although they are not girlie at all (2 are in the National Guard and my DIL just finished in the Marines), I am just not used to all of the concern with the dresses, etc, the hair, and all of that. There was just a lot of estrogen flying around.

The last 20 years would have been so much nicer for me had my MIL ever followed this line of thought. My mother is the one who showed up to our Christmas wedding in a lavender skirt suit...when everyone else was in long Wintery dresses. She returned her forest green long dress at the last minute--because it didn't show off her legs (seriously, she said that). So guess who stands out in the wedding photos like a sore thumb?

What a beautiful wedding. They are a lovely couple. But I am with you--so thankful I don't have a DD. Planning my own wedding was a big enough PITA. I am happy to not have to do that ever again or have to have any hand in helping anyone else with theirs, either.
