Hi all,
I went from 165mm to 155mm cranks a couple of years ago. My physical therapist is even going to go to shorter cranks, as he has hip problems. Shorter cranks, he said, will reduce his hips from rocking.
Now granted, I ride a recumbent, so you may not want to go as short (my Physical therapists rides a road bike). I have achieved more power with the shorter cranks for sure. Hill climbing dramatically improved for me.
Bike Smith makes some wonderful cranks so check them out.
