Williamsport Bike-Lane Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Tuesday June 15th 2pm, Cushwa Basin, Williamsport MD

New bike lanes have been installed in Williamsport, MD to connect the C&O Canal, Town Center and Byron Memorial Park. This is the first visual step in a planned revitalization of Town Center, an area that many years ago used to be Williamsport's core business district.

We will celebrate the beginning of our Town Center revitalization with the ribbon cutting and official opening of our new bike lanes. The ceremony will start in the Trolley Barn at Cushwa Basin at 2pm. Light refreshments by Town Center business partner Desert Rose and music by local musicians Dogfoot will be provided. After the ribbon cutting, anyone with a bike may ride into Town.

Having confirmed attendance are Delegate Andrew Serafini, Michael Jackson the MDT Director Bicycle/Pedestrian Access, , Brian Carlstrom the Deputy Superintendent/C&O Canal National Historical Park, Curt Gaul with the National Park Service, Tom Riford with the Washington County Department of Tourism, James Castle with the DHCD Elizabeth Scott Shatto Director of the Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area, Cathy McCollom with the Progress Fund, Jennifer Swatsworth with Chamber of Commerce and representatives from our local community and businesses.
