we just got news that our oldest son has defended his thesis and will be getting his PH.d on Sunday. His fiancee passed a couple of weeks ago. We are leaving tomorrow to go to California to see the graduation and then three days later, celebrate their wedding. We might even have some time for me to get up with some of my dearest friends who are in LA whom I haven't seen in a couple of years.

We get back on the 21st, close on a new house we are buying on the 22nd (we are currently renting) so that we have room to have my FIL live with us. The packers come n the 23 to pack us and we move out on the 24th. After several weeks of cleaning, mucking, hewing and sorting, I am looking forward to a 10 day break before all this happens.

Anyway, a double Ph.D and a wedding, followed by a new house, is worth all the hassle and worth celebrating.

I am looking forward to exploring new bike routes and riding a lot in July, but will have to switch gyms and find a new trainer.
