I would love to find a cycling/adventure/fitness magazine sort of like Outside (which we already get), but aimed at women. Any suggestions? When I was doing triathlons, I loved reading Triathlete every month, even if it was really about the guys. But the stories inspired me and made me want to push harder. Outside is similar - but it's very macho.

There are a million "get a flat belly and look great in your bikini!" women's magazines out there - none of which interest me. I want to read stories about women who get out there and do cool stuff, have adventures, ride and repair their bikes, hike, stuff like that. I figured that if such a magazine exists, the women of TE would know about it! Whad'ya got?

I wish I had a good suggestion. I received a free year of Outside once, and I found myself more than a little pissed off at how few women are featured. I don't know of a women-centric adventure magazine. You might try National Geographic Adventure (I think that's the title assuming they still produce it). It's a little more gender neutral.

Thanks SouthernBelle - that looks like exactly what I want, though I am bummed that they no longer have paper subscriptions. I do understand why, it's just that I enjoy holding a magazine much more than I like reading online.

Indysteel - it's funny about Outside mag - when they actually do publish something about a woman is when I notice how annoyingly macho it is. The latest issue had a companion issue with gear recommendations. Now it's really just a glossy collection of ads, hardly a true gear review, but it was the four pages of women's stuff in the very back that pissed me off. Oh well.
