I did my own duathlon. I ran 2 miles, biked 15 miles and ran 2 miles.
This was the first time I have ever done this. I wasn't planning on it. It was just so pretty this morning, that I decided to try it.
I did it in 1 hr 48 min. I am 51 years old, I don't know if that is a really slow time or not.

I rode 45 miles with some friends this morning. It was nice to get out before the afternoon thunder showers threatened.

I got in 26 miles before the tourists got on the roads. It's crazy here! Glad they're coming, for the economy's sake, but what a difference in traffic!
Sweet ride, though. Perfect weather, felt great. :)

My quads were talking to me after riding the last 4 days in a row - but it is just so beautiful today! So I took my bike to the park and had an easy 10 mile spin at a little lower speed than normal. The temps are a little lower today, and the humidity much lower - very pleasant afternoon indeed! My legs are feeling better than they were before, so it was the right choice.

It's our wedding anniversary today, and going on a long bike ride was a perfect way to celebrate. Our bike club put on a ride today, it was out-n-back so you could choose any distance and we chose the metric century. It was a beautiful day, mostly overcast, not too hot, and a flat route.
My legs felt very, very sluggish starting out. Luckily I was able to draft off a tandem for a while until my legs decided to wake up. Then we found another couple riding at about our pace, so we did the rest of the ride with them and it worked out very nicely.
I kind of ran out of gas with a few miles to go. Gotta work on that hydration/nutrition thing. But even though I feel pretty pooped, it was a very nice ride. Now hopefully we can stay awake through our anniversary dinner tonight!

The threat of rain hung in the air here earlier today but I decided to take a chance and ride. It was a wise decision as the rain never materialized. I rode some of my favorite roads, discovered a new road and revisited some that I had not been on for several months. Traffic was extremely low out in the country today so I basically had the roads to myself and I had a blast. I logged 37.5 miles today. It was a great day to ride - sun and clouds, warm temps, reasonable humidity and a wonderful tailwind that became a wicked headwind later in the day.
60 miles home from NH, where I rode to on Saturday. Had a lovely weekend at a gathering of women.

We decided to end our trip with a bike tour of Malaga. It was more stressful than our actual bike trip!
We had cruiser bikes that felt very weird to steer. I put the seat all the way down, so I could quickly put my foot down. It was just the guide and me and DH. First, he took us through all these narrow streets and sidewalks, where all the tourists and workers are. Let's just say, that I now know I am much more comfortable riding around cars than people! We got some interesting stories about the places we saw, but I was having a hard time listening, because I was thinking of where we would ride next. Finally, we headed into the park/botanical garden and onto the boardwalk by the beach. Since he realized we were fit, he took us down to a former "private' beach, about 3 miles. Then we stopped for a drink, as by this time it was about 85 degrees out. I hated riding on the sidewalk, and although the Spanish people are extremely courteous to riders on the road, they don't yield an inch on the sidewalk or plazas, even with a bell.I am glad we did this, though.
Waiting for the taxi to take us to the airport.
Pictures will come tomorrow.

Like Denda, I started my day with a duathlon. Happiness is a fast 32 mile ride on a recently overhauled Bianchi! It was humid/warm, but not as bad as Sunday when the "gnat factor" was high. Although I had planned on a longer swim, I didn't anticipate a 4,500 yard-fest. :-) Couldn't help myself because the place was practically deserted - a rarity - and I had the lane to myself for a good chunk of the time. Felt strong, too, despite having marked a milestone on Saturday, swimming 5,000 yards and meeting my 2010 goal of swimming for more than 2hrs. At one point, there were only two of us in the pool....

Got out and did 40 -- needed 36 to get to 1000 for May. It was a bit windy but good preparation for teh GITAP week-long tour I'm doing on the 13. Then did 5 more miles in errands. Alas, one of my buddies got worn out ... he won't be able to do GITAP, but will do open heart surgery instead. Geez.
Did a few more minutes making slushies for the kids at the Memorial Day Cookout on the bicycle blender. I think that's four Blender OUtings this year (I resolved this year to get it OUt There at least 10 times).
