It was 85 degrees and 61% humidity. I'm surprised I rode at all. I woke up this morning and my brain was itching to do a long ride. The rest of me wanted to go back to bed for a few hours. I obeyed. Once I finally got up and going, it was noon. I did a 17-mile ride, which isn't bad for me considering how hot and sticky it was. (I don't do hot weather. I stop moving when it gets to this temperature, normally.) Luckily the trail is largely shaded, but I still ended up with a cyclist tan.
I got lunch after the ride at a cafe place. Ran into a very cute engineering student who's on the area div I school cycling team. I think he's the cafe owner's son or something. I can look, right?:D

It was warm in Ohio! It was my first hard ride in several weeks what with the marathon and all, and it felt sooooooo good. The club ride split up even more than usual, because of the heat and a wide range of abilities. It was a fast (for us) 32 miles, about as flat as it gets around here. Just one other guy and I went off the front. It's been a long time since I sweated so much! :p I love to sweat.

Glad to hear you are back on the bike, Oak!
We pulled a faux pas yesterday. DH and I planned to ride at 5:30 AM with our riding pal and overslept! Oh my!!! Either the alarm didn't go off or we were so tired we didn't hear it. I woke up at 5:35 AM, shot out of bed in a panic and ran to the front door. Sure enough, there he stood in our driveway waiting on us. How embarrassing! We threw our riding clothes on, aired the tires, filled some water bottles and took off still half asleep. No coffee, no breakfast. We did get 18 miles in before work but I really don't want to do that again.

I went for a ride in the heat in Ohio yesterday afternoon too! The bike trail was about half shaded and half sunny so it wasn't too bad. I had my best ride to date since I got my bike back in Sept. I did 14.7 miles, averaging 13.8 mph- which is 1 mph faster than I have been averaging the last few months.
Everything felt awesome, even with the heat and humidity! I had a ton of energy (even after putting in a 10 hour day at work!). I know I was very well hydrated which definitely helped.

I had a nice 1-hour ride, though didn't have my bike computer so have no idea how far I actually rode. Some issues with the heat, it may or may not have had to do with hydration. The heat has just come so fast.
Had a great time though, and found some roads on the park where I go during the week that were totally shaded :D Saw two deer, and focused on cornering a little more consistently/faster and just had fun,

New here, but thought I would post.
Only had a short 9.5 mile ride around White Rock Lake yesterday -- would have gone further but light was fading. I did spend about 30 minutes before my ride practicing T1 and T2 transitions with some others. Had my first ever fall on the bike trying to dismount in my 3rd practice T2 and the seat of my bike shorts hooked on the saddle and brought it down on top of me. Embarrassing, but no real injury thankfully.:o

This week was the first (of hopefully many) WOW ride. WOW stands for Women Only Wednesday and it was formed by my friend and former pro-racer Mary. She felt there was a need for a women's only ride to encourage female riders that are intimidated by the LBS group rides. From the turn out it was a hit. We had 10 riders from all skill/ experience levels. We did an 18 mile loop from one of the bike shops through lovely neighborhoods and rolling countrysides. We had 2 catch up places to re-group and there would be no one left behind. I led the faster group and I found the ladies were very happy to chat while we waited for the others to come in. :)
