Hi! Today I took the WSD Trek 2100 out for her second ride. Since we had to make an emergency trip to the Orlando airport, I took advantage of that and went to ride a trail some friends had told me about- the Van Fleet Trail, 29 miles one way of rails to trail, in the middle of the Green Swamp. It was _gorgeous_! Frogs and birds croaking, mysterious sounds I couldn't identify. I saw three otters, a hawk, a flock of storks, three Sandhill cranes, tons of Gopher Tortoises, and lots more.
Jelly Belly Sport Beans, orange and lemon lime. 100 calories, 60 mg of sodium, 60 mg of potassium. Made of sugar and corn syrup. Tastes great! Not too sweet, especially lemon lime. Perfect for when you are tired of gels and want a bite of something solid.
Terry Cabo Tank, yellow hearts. I bought this by default at the Terry sale- everything I really liked was out of my size. It has become my favorite jersey. I love the cut, the fit, the style, the fabric, the colors.
Patagonia Gemini Sports Bra. A very pretty style, and nice capilene fabric. Low cut with a twisty front design. For smaller busts. Kind of loose at the bottom, self-fabric not elastic. I carry my Ipod Shuffle in there, and it kept falling through. But very comfortable and wicked well. I have taken to wearing these as pajama tops since our AC is not working well :-( I also used it as a washcloth when the ride was over.
Patagonia Capilene Womens Brief. No seams. No elastic at the waist, which doesn't roll. Very wicking. Lucky I was wearing them, since I forgot to bring undies to change into after the ride! No going commando for me...
Polar Bottle Drink bottle. I wasn't impressed. Maybe it kept my frozen R4 colder a little bit longer, but when I drank it after 2 hours, it was tepid, nothing approaching cool, even.
Profile Carbon Water Bottle Kage. I found it on sale at Nashbar. The price is still horrendous for a bottle cage, but I had to have it. It weighs nothing. It matches the carbon seat stays, seat post and fork on the 2100. It is a piece of art. It is also wonderfully functional- no fighting to get the bottle in and out, and the bottle stayed put over bumpy wooden bridges in the swamp. I love it.
On vacation this week, hoping to make it to the Okefenokee Swamp tomorrow!
