Hi ladies-- I need recommendations on bike shops in Boston. We'll be coming through in July, and my DH wants to buy a bike while we're there, since there is limited selection in his size here in Chile. (He typically rides a 58 cm.) So far he is mostly considering the Trek Madone, but he is open to trying other companies. So... Can anyone recommend shops that are likely to carry a range of carbon bikes in stock?
Finally, my son wants me to include an emoticon
Thanks!

Will you be in Boston itself, or in the suburbs? There are several good shops in the area. International Bike, Back Bay Bike, Wheelworks (although, personally, I wouldn't send anyone there to buy a bike), CycleLoft. Let me know more specifically where you will be, and I can point you in the right direction.

p.s.
This year's models may be mostly sold out, FYI. Manufacturers shorted their runs this year. It may be good to contact shops in advance to see what they have in stock.

They have multiple locations in and around the city, here's their link.

Although they are mostly known for their parts, and commuting bikes, Harris Cyclery has all types of bikes and are great to buy a bike from, we've gotten 3 from them. Yes, that is where Sheldon Brown worked, but you will often find both Sonny and Jon Harris in the store. It won't be going away any time soon. Their link http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/index.html

Listen to SheFly.
I recommend Cycle Loft, in Burlington, but if you are only going to be in the city, the others are good, too. But, as was said above, call first. Cycling is hugely popular here and the shops seem to be out of everything.

Thanks! I'll start looking into these this weekend (assuming they have websites). We are only just starting to plan this leg of the trip. I'll try to get a better sense of where we'll be and let you know. At this point, we're just thinking of spending a couple of days in Boston before flying out, as neither one of us knows the city.
