Free shipping both ways (for returns) on all of their hiking boots, shoes, apparel, housewares and accessories! And if you become a VIP memeber (no charge for this), next day shipping at no charge!

They don't have discounts on items, but they do run sales! So check them out!

Have you used them? Had any issues with them? I haven't - it almost sounds too good to be true (and I tend to find things on sale locally).

I've shopped with them many times. It's really great if you are in a hurry and they are good with returns. They also tend to have stock on things that are sold out elsewhere so if there is something hard to find, they might be your spot.

BUT, if you do an item to item comparison to other places, their prices are almost always higher. They don't charge shipping, but you do pay for it in the price of the item. It's GREAT marketing but not always the best deal. ;)

I tend to go with Onlineshoes.com and shoot for free shipping coupons or promotions. Their prices are almost always lower on shoes than Zappos.

I just ordered my CW-X Ventilator tights from Zappo's, because they were the only ones who had them in stock. They arrived SUPER fast. No problems. Price was about the same as retail.

+ 1 on Zappos.com I buy there on occasion and have never had anything but stellar service.

I ordered a pair of shoes from Z's yesterday and they arrived just now. I didn't pay for shipping, and, for some reason, they upgraded my order to next-day. I found the same shoes (in black instead of copper) at TJMaxx for $40 less than I paid at Zappos. So, there's that. But I got the shoes I wanted.

I like the great pictures they have for shoes/clothes, etc. I only ever bought one pair of boots from them, but I often go there to check to look at the pictures.

I like to shop at places like REI (not the cheapest), or backcountry.com as their products are guaranteed for life. The Keen boots I got on zappos started leaking after about 3 months, and I was SOL with zappos, but if I had gotten them at REI or backcountry, they would've reimbursed or replaced them.

Zappos has a one-year return policy. :-)

Zappos has a one-year return policy. :-)

not if they're used? I asked, and was told "sorry".

this was a few years ago so maybe they've changed policies?

Thanks, Badger. I didn't realize that.

I've looked at their website many times, but a lot of things I've looked at were priced ABOVE MSRP. Anything marked down hasn't been in my size. I love Backcountry, though! When I'm shopping online, I tend to be pretty focused on getting the best price, and free shipping isn't free shipping if they've already marked it up (it actually makes me feel like they're trying to pull the wool over my eyes if I see something that I know the MSRP on going for more, but with free shipping). Rather than paying extra, I'd rather see if a local shop can order it, and still not pay for shipping.

They may be fantastic to work with, but so far I haven't been tempted. If the right deal happened along......

Get this. Got the size 8.5 hiking boots yesterday, and got the size 9s today! No extra charge for next day shipping!

I just went online, went into "my account", and I have the UPS label to put on the boots I am sending back!

NO, not like REI or LL Bean where you can return used items. They have to be in the same exact condition they came in, brand new.

Zappos seems to always have a bigger color and size selection for Keens and that's usually the reason I order from there. I've been very satisfied and would recommend them. I don't mind paying a little more if it is a reliable company with good customer service.

I would recommend Back Country for the same reasons.
