I hooked up with two friends of mine to do the "N2 Late" ride. My friend, Trevor, was a bit late showing up at the start, so Kelly and I rode down Beach Drive, hoping to sweep him up on his way to the start. Well, we did. Found out why he was late. He found a wallet on the ground, and spent some time chasing loose $20 and $50 dollar bills that had blown out of it! It was a windy day, so he did a fair bit of chasing.
After the ride, he used the ID in the wallet to track down the owner. There was over $300 dollars in the wallet  that Trevor returned to a very relieved owner. :D
I ended up with 50 miles for the day...and found no wads of cash myself....

Holy cow. I was planning to do a potomac pedalers ride in Middleburg this morning but decided to skip it due to the wind advisory. Decided to do a different pptc ride starting from Cabin John Regional Park tomorrow morning instead and now I'm looking at the forecast and having second thoughts. (Under 50 at ride start and windy all day -- I hate wind and cold :(.)
So I am impressed that you were out riding in this wind today.
And good for Trevor! Good kharma is coming his way.
(Feel free to tell me to HTFU and just do the ride tomorrow. It apparently goes through Potomac to Darnestown, and I've never ridden around that area at all. Really I should do it. Really really should.)

I wish I had seen you guys sitting on the bench, I would have joined you instead of riding. Hubs and I did 50 miles in the crazy wind and I just about died. I even walked a hill on the way home, which I have never done. Oh well, if it doesn't kill you...

Did 24 miles today on a new (to me) portion of a trail. The walkers and dogs got to be too much or I would have ridden further.

Holy cow! That's a lot of cash to find!
I did an organized century ride.. well, part of it. Course was poorly marked (first year for this ride), and I ended up lost with 2 friends. We finally decided that taking about 10 miles of dirt road and carrying our bikes across the river was our best bet.
At least I got a good story out of the deal! Unfortunately, the ride organizers and the guy who marked the course had a bad attitude ("If you'd followed the natural course of the road, you would've stayed on track!" so it's my fault - as well as the other 30+ riders who got lost. Right ). Won't be doing this ride next year unless things chang.
