I'm going to Vancouver with my husband June 7-11. I don't want to get out of my running routine but I know nothing about Vancouver. We are staying at the Pan Pacific on 300/999 Canada Place. Are there any trails that I could run on? I'm planning on doing 20km.

There would be Seawall path through Coal Harbour area which runs into Stanley Park ..will give you a 20 kms. run....

We actually live not far from the path but I will be travelling in Europe in June. But perhaps another TE member who also jogs /bikes may join you.

shooting star, is it safe to run in Stanley Park. I'll be by myself.

If you stay along the paved asphalt walking, jogging path that hugs the shoreline that encircles the outer edge of the park, it should be fine since you are out in the open, not within the treed areas. Jogging after 7:00 am should be fine since there are other joggers, walkers, and cyclists by that time.

Other Vancouverites here can comment perhaps better since I'm a cyclist.

Lots of runners out and great views.

Along the Seawall path, you pass by this statute:

and just before this statute are several different totem poles (worth a photo snap or 2 since these would not be indigenous to your area).

I stayed at the Pan Pacific and ran along the seawall alone early in the morning in March. The wall starts just a block or so from the hotel. By the way, my Garmin wouldn't connect until after I had left the tall buildings. Have fun!
