I did it, went ahead and had my LBS built a set of wheels. It's all DT Swiss parts, all black except for the silver spokes. At 28 spokes they're not the sportiest looking, but the set weighs in at 1400g and they feel great. So far so good, and I'm very, very happy that I can feel the difference!
On the flip side, we've discovered a crack in one of the carbon-aluminum joints of my frame. The Cannondale rep is supposed to look at it tomorrow, so let's hope it's just the paint and nothing more!
