I'm coming over to the MD/DC area tomorrow and want to buy either Keen or Sidi MTB bike shoes (not the sandals) - whichever fit well. Can anyone tell me which bike shops might carry these brands? Much as I'd like to buy locally, no one has them here here at the beach.

I'll be coming in from Rt 50 and around the beltway, so College Park, Silver Spring, Chevy Chase, Rockville, or Bethesda would be convenient.

I'll also be over at the Spring Valley Crate & Barrel on Sunday - so if there are any bike shops over that way, could hit them too.

Thanks,
Martha

The Bicycle Place (http://bicycleplace.com/) in Silver Spring carries Sidi. I'm pretty sure they have the mtb shoes.
REI (http://www.rei.com/)in College Park and Rockville carries both Sidi and Keen. As does the Evil Empire (http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/TopCategories_10052_10551_-1) in Rockville.
Any reason it has to be only one of these two brands??

I had to click on evil empire... and then of course I laughed!

I have a pair of Sidis that I like very much - but want to try them on one size smaller before I commit. I also like my Keen sandals very much, so wanted to try the shoes. I had ordered a pair from REI last winter but the sizing was bizarre and had to send them back, then they were on backorder, then shoulder surgery happened and here it is 6 months later and I still don't have new bike shoes. :(

I just got a pair of keen cycling sandals at the college park rei last weekend. I'm pretty sure I saw the keen shoes there, but didn't notice sidis. It's right off the beltway, so it's worth a stop.

(now I have to figure out how to install cleats)
