Hi Everyone!

I've got a question about Float. I think I am hating my Look Keo's because I started out cycling with Crank Brother's Egg Beaters, and I think that after much research I have determined that they have different types of float. Is it true? I have read that eggbeater float is free float, while keo float is friction based self centering. Is this true?

So I think that my knees might not like the friction float, and i am about ready to ditch the keo's for Speedplays. However, My LBS told me that some people cut off the rubber that contacts the pedal on keo cleats to make it frictionless. Have any of you heard of this before and done it? it sounds kind of dangerous to me. maybe i am just being silly. But really, have any of you heard of it, or tried it and had success?
