Ok, I haven't cycled for over a year due to this or that. I just did 17 today. Yea me, but my butt seriously hurts. I don't remember hurting this much. Does anyone know about how long it takes to get used to the saddle?

Thanks :O)

Oh stop! :p

Maybe 3-4 rides IIRC, or a week or two, depending on how often and how long you're riding and your individual healing rate...

If i go all winter without riding, my sitbones are killing me after my first two rides. For that reason i limit my first several rides to between 10-15 miles. It takes about 5 rides spaced out over two or three weeks or so before I can ride 'normally' without serious soreness the next day. It's a lot like riding a horse. :D After maybe 10 rides I'm fine and can ride 30 or 40 miles with no excessive sitbone soreness.
Of course different types of saddles will have diff results. My saddles are Brooks, so there is no padding and pretty much all the weight I have on the seat is right on the sitbones. After my initial sitbone soreness is gone, it's all quite comfortable.

When I started riding last year, my LBS said to ride 7 days in a row for at least 20 mins. even if your sit bones are sore! It worked!

And once you have 'sitz of steele' you no longer need a sitz bath (http://www.best-home-remedies.com/alternative_medicines/sitz-bath.htm). LOL!!
