Yes, this has been discussed many times before, but let's quantify it!

Please feel free to discuss your reasons and offer suggestions in the comments section - we'll be sure to pass your feedback along to the brands/manufacturers we work with.

I clicked on the wrong selection - I am voting for choice #2 :p

I do not generally care for elastic at all, but I do like a little something in the back to keep things from riding up. As a shorter person, my tops do tend to be a little long and outside of how elastic in the front looks, it sometimes catches on the nose of my saddle as I get on the bike - not good.

I like a little elastic in the legs because other wise it rides up to my crotch. :o On the waist i like it to fall right below the waist line with just the right amount of elastic to keep it there. :)

I'm short waisted so any elastic somehow just rides up to my natural waist and then its all baggy and annoying. Maybe I've not worn any with gripper elastic but NEVER ever gathered!

(I'm still trying to get the elastic OUT of a mens jersey that I like...)

I have relatively narrow waist, narrow hips, and big thighs. Anything with any compression (be it a cycling top with elastic at the bottom or a compression running top) creeps and bunches at my waist, leaving my lower belly exposed. HATE it!

Yep, you and I have the same issue.

Me three!!! When I buy a man's jersey I need a large enough size to fit over my hips then the sleeves hit me at the elbows. The first thing I do is rip the elastic out and serge the bottom, then I surge all the way down the sides starting at the sleeves and ending at the waist which takes in a lot of the bulk and then I hem the bottom and the sleeves. It's a lot of work but when you are short wasted and curvy, what are you going to do? I try not to buy a jersey if they don't offer it in women's sizes but when you go to a ride like RAGBRAI or the Hilly Hundred, you want a jersey as a keepsake.

I am curvy, elastic just means the jersey creeps. I like bib so my tummy isn't exposed but the mesh of my bibs will be. When I can find it I prefer no elastic. :)

I'm short-waisted with a waist that's significantly narrower than my hips. While the cut has something to do with it, elastic tends to ride up. I can't wear men's jerseys without that happening. I've had slightly better luck with elastic-hemmed women's jerseys, but I haven't road-tested either of my elastic-waisted ones. (They don't migrate to my waist when I touch my toes, but we shall see.) I just got the Filigree Wheels jersey. I can't decide if I'm going to exchange it or relieve it of its elastic.

I know it is just the width of my screen, but I see this thread title as:
