First in a series of women's only rides, let by a NEMBA rider. Here is the e-mail without Stacey's phone number:

"the first ride will meet at Big River on Wednesday April 28th @ 5:30. From 95 North take exit 6 and turn right at the end of the exit. The sandy parking lot is immediately on the left. There is a small green road sign that says Burnt Saw Mill Road.

This is our first ride together, so I am planning an easy ride were we get to know each other and as we make progress we can ride harder later if we want to. We can split the group on later rides if the group is to large, but I would like to meet everyone first. Also, I am a teacher, so if we want to practice things as we ride I am more than happy to teach. As the only women on most mtn bike rides I often feel like I am going as fast as I can and I am sometimes reluctant to try new things, so I think it will be fun to ride a reasonable pace and encourage each other to try things.

Here is what to bring:

A working mountain bike NATURALLY!
Helmet (a must!)
Spare Tube
At least one tire iron
Small pump or CO2 cartrige if you have one!
Water bottles (two) or a camel back
Some variety of snack (granola bar, cliff bar, or gu or whatever you like)

If you don't have all of these things come anyway and we will work on it. If you don't know how to change a flat, bring the materials anyway and I will teach you how.

Also, bring a positive attitude! One of the best things I learned at a mountain bike camp I went to was the fraze "No stinkin thinkin!"

Things to leave at home:

Your significant others, they are the wrong gender for this ride!

Please let me know if you are coming so I can get a sense of the numbers for the ride.

Looking forward to meeting everyone,

Stacey"
