Let's share some unusual blogs that aren't cycling oriented at all. But a couple of your favourite blogs that you like checking out often.

I have other ones (which are probably too boring here) but here's 2:

http://tokyogreenspace.com About sustainability practices in Tokyo. Last few posts, go see their cherry spring blossoms pics.

http://chowtimes.com/
A couple who are foodbloggers whom I've never met or know at all. But I read their blog.....just to have an idea of their take..especially on Asian cuisine in Metro Vancouver. Honest, I hope Seattlers and Portlanders will not be offended but the sheer selection and quality of restaurants for at least Chinese restaurants is in Metro Vancouver, which includes Richmond, is much better.

They also try and review other types of restaurants locally. They seem to bring their 2 boys along too.

How do food bloggers ...survive..eating all that food that often?? Do you know any food blogger personally??

I would like more Planning blogs..

Here are a few...http://planningpool.com/
http://www.planetizen.com/interchange

The West Australian Young Planners blog doesn't get updated very often but i do check it out..http://wayoungplanners.blogspot.com/

The non planning ones i visit are mainly Iranian blogs. (No, I can't read Farsi-have found a few in english/farsi) I like the mystery surrounding the blogs & wonder who's behind that screen typing the info....

this is a shameless plug but I often check my own website, www.whyisthispopular.com (http://www.whyisthispopular.com)!

I think the tag line explains it all... "this blog is for you if you've ever viewed some currently hyped idiocy and asked yourself that vital question: ¿Why Is This Popular?"

maria, you're supposed to show us that you're more "well-read", than just your own blog.

Certainly one checks their own. What gets me are the type of keyword google search strings that people execute and end up on either of the 2 blogs (below) which sometimes have nothing to do with their topic. I'm amazed that people think we've reached the semantic web. Well, no, not exactly. (I just have a curiosity how people define their search problems in words and tackle the Internet for the answer.)

Oxy--that cakewreck blog is a hoot!

Hmm well in my defense, I read a lot of sites to keep my own site up. I love my.aol personally. AOL News keeps up with interesting stories the second they break, it's incredible how fast they are. Between all of AOL's different branches you can learn about any type of breaking news... from political to fashion.

I don't read any blogs.

Some websites actually use blog software but the non-web designer user may not be aware. These are more sophisticated.

Several professional associations I belong to, use blog software to post all sorts of development. The boring ones that I don't mention here, are the blogs I check at least once a wk. I skim over about 3 different key professional association/leading "voice" within the profession.

Sometimes it just takes too long publish in a professional journal /newsletter. Well actually a newsletter is now replaced by a blog....at least in my profession. Things are changing very rapidly in terms of technology and business developments.

Actually, I am aware of that trend;however, I don't think the MA Mental Health Counselor Association blogs!
I do occasionally check Denise G.'s blog, maybe once every 3 months. But, I talk with her, so it's not a necessary thing. It's just that I am not interested in people's random musings. If it's for a professional reason, of course, but somehow I don't see therapists doing this, as it sort of goes against confidentiality, etc.

I enjoy reading the blogs of folks here on TE. Not all of their reflections are totally cycling related. I especially like GLC's and trigirl's blogs.

I read our local bird/wildlife blogs. While they cover mainly Central and Riverside Parks in NYC (with some exceptions), they might be of interest to many nature lovers. Our birds are used to tripods, so the photographers can often get amazing shots.

I am very grateful to each of the photographers. It's quite wonderful to watch birds with them and then see photographs the following day.

"I'm a 40+ year old runner in the Sacramento area trying to qualify for the US Olympic Marathon Trials in 2012. I started running (i.e. was not running before then except when ordered by the military to do so) just over 5 years ago and am blogging about the trials I face in my pursuit of this ambitious goal."

The blogs I read regularly are listed on the right side of my blog, actually. ;)

Plus, I use this one for recipes a LOT:

http://simplyrecipes.com/
But I don't 'read' it or it would make me too hungry. :p

I also regularly check in on Veronica and Urlea blog's as well.

Geoffrey Chaucer Hath a Blog (http://houseoffame.blogspot.com/) It hasn't been updated in several months, but it's very funny, especially if you spent any amount of time studying English literature or medieval history.

The "Sleeptalking Man" one WAS quite funny. :D Best quote so far:

"Never before have I had the opportunity to ride one of these wonderful creatures. I'm gonna take it slow, and make it last all day. Mmmm-hmmm. I love saddling up my hamster."

Hilarious.
