For you folks who ride bents like I do, here is a new company, picking up where Burley did before they closed: http://www.edgerecumbents.com/

They are putting a mtn bike version together for me. I've learned that as counterintuitive as it may seem, that a SWB bent is not good on mild offroad conditions, packed dirt roads, like I am looking for. A LWB with 26 inch wheels handles far better for a bent.

Their new model the Haiku will be revealed tomorrow. Nope, these are not light bikes, but for offroad use weight is not a big deal for me. But I will throw a nicer set of wheels on.

I'm glad someone picked up the Burley models. We were really tempted by them when we were bike shopping. Here's hoping that Edge makes a go of it.

Good to know. Thanks.

I wonder if they'll build an underseat steering model?

I don't know if they will go with an underseat model on their SWB bikes. I've been working closely with Bill on a bent mtn bike, yep, one for offroad. They are going to bring back the Spyder with a different name, with dual 559 wheels.

They are awesome to work with, and are testing the heck out of this bike on the trails. I have had it riding my Trek mtn bike and getting sore neck and back (and the bike is set up properly). I am really spoiled by bents, just love them!

If you have any questions, their customer service person Jaquilla is awesome.
