I know this is a long shot, but...
My entire RAMROD group from last year got in via the lotto this year, except for me. :( I'm #479 on the waitlist so my chances of getting in on waitlist are basically zero. I will keep my eyes open for the slots they sell on eBay, but of course even if I bid and bid high I still may lose the auction. I really, really, really want to ride again this year since last year it was an altered route. And since they're bringing the bike bands back this year! (I still feel cheated that I didn't get one last year when I rode.)
My understanding is that anyone who volunteered last year to get a guaranteed slot for the 2010 ride can transfer their slot to someone else (unlike a lottery/waitlist registration, which is non-transferrable). Any chance at all that one of you has one of those guaranteed spots but doesn't want to ride this year and would be willing to sell the slot to me? Or that you know someone else in that position? Feel free to PM me if you can help. Thanks!
You might want to post this up on the Cascade Cycling Club board to reach more folks who might be in a position to help.

I'm sorry you didn't make the lottery pick for this year's RAMROD malaholic.
I just received my email notification and I MADE IT! :) I was afraid I wouldn't because the past two years I've never made it. I thought it would be the same this year but no, my luck changed this year.
I will keep my eyes and ears open for you and let you know if I hear anything.
And yes post at the Cascade forum.

get yourself on the waiting list. In years past, every single person on the waiting list that WANTED to ride got in. And to assure yourself of that, get in touch with the volunteer coordinator, tell them what you want/need.
Ramrod "slots" aren't like other rides.. good luck.
I volunteer every year and never ride. Gave my bypass (of the lottery) away this year to a guy who loves to do the ride...

Eden, thanks for the Cascade forum link - I have posted there as well.
Susan126 - glad to hear you got in this year! You mentioned not getting in the last 2 years - have you done the ride before that, or will this be your first?
Biciclista - yep, I'm on the waiting list. From what I've heard though, they might end up going about 300 deep on the list, but at #479 it's very unlikely. I will try for one of the eBay auctions, I'm just nervous about that being my only shot in case I lose the auction. I will get in touch with the volunteer coordinator regardless though. I would not mind helping out with some of the pre-ride-day tasks. I'm still hoping to ride this year, because next year I don't think most of the folks that I'd ride it with (including DH) are going to do it. (Actually, DH has said - only half-joking - that he was going to sell his bike after Death Ride this year...wonder what he's going to ride RAMROD on then?)

malaholic, I have done the RAMROD before. The last time in 2005. I did enter last year but didn't make the lottery and my draw was like the very last number. I also volunteered one year and had a lot of fun. It was the year that the course started from Enumclaw and went up to Sunrise and Cyrstal Mountain (because of the road damage caused by the winter storm of 2006). I worked the sandwich stop. It was a ton of fun. For volunteering I got an instant in but my mom got real sick in 2007 so I gave my ticket up and flew home to be with her for the months of July and part of August.
Well what a surprise was waiting for me in my email this week! After 5 years I am going to do the ramrod again.
I hope you get a ticket! Let us all know if you do! :) Good Luck!
-Sue :)

Didn't get in last year (didn't move up far enough on the waitlist) or this year. Messed up on my registration for the lottery this year and didn't check that I wanted to be waitlisted. I was planning to volunteer whether I got in or not. Most of my friends are in, so I am looking forward to watching them all come across the finish line. I do get the benefit of training with them, too.
