I married my cycling partner in early December of 2009. It was a perfect day. My best friend was my maid of honor - we met on the same racing team, and John's best man is his training parner and best friend for over 20 years. We were surrounded by friends, family and lots of cyclists!
Any of you married to your cycling partner?

I married my cycling partner in 1986. Then I stopped road cycling and he made it his #1 sport.
On our 23rd anniversary he gave me a Cannondale Synapse Carbon 5 and we are once again cycling partners!
We are almost empty-nesters now and we are blessed with two super responsible boys who can safely be left at home. (17 & 19) We try to plan a special ride and camping trip whenever we have a free weekend. It's so much fun!
This is all so romantic.
Your wedding looked beautiful. You are an adorable couple.

Congratulations!! What a beautiful couple.
My hubby and are were life partners before cycling partners and it is a very special bond that we share. It is really wonderful to have a hobby that you both love to do. Something else in common. :)
There is a couple in my cycling club that got married about a year ago that met through the club and their love just grew over the last 2 years. They are a sweet couple and they love to ride!

Thanks for the link - nice!
Now I know what our Christmas Card will look like - we are taking a cycling honeymoon in the mountains of Utah - so we will be sure to take a mountain shot for that card.
Thanks for the comment on the dress - I am not a foo foo girl - no beads sequins lace or a long train for me - also no cleavage ;) I have none!

My partner and I have been cycling almost as long as we have been together..over past 18 yrs.
And we know that each love scycling enough, that when we are apart for long periods of times, we each will do it on our own regularily. Living apart for 2.5 yrs. in 2 different provinces nearly 10 years ago, and sharing cycling stories from afar, was some proof of a tremendous test...on any love relationship.

I'm also married to my cycling partner. We went mountain biking for our 3rd date over 8 years ago. We are now predominantly roadies, but we are still each others favorite riding partner. :)

Our honeymoon (we haven't taken it yet) is to ride SeaOtter and Breakaway from cancer this month. We leave a week from Friday. In between, we will bike around San Francisco.
Now, if I could only get him to mountain bike....

My cycling partner and I have been married for 30 years :). He started riding about 12 years ago, after being the coach potato in the family. He got me to come out of the gym and ride about 10 years ago.
I do ride with others, but mostly him. Our whole life revolves around cycling and other outdoor activities now, with a lot of restaurant eating thrown in there, too.

Congrats and thanks for sharing pics!
My husband and I are going to attempt (LOL!) to become cycling partners this year, our 10th year as a pair. We've enjoyed hiking, camping, kayaking, cooking, golfing and snowboarding together so I can't wait for summer to come (or at least this snow to end) so we can get in the swing of something new :)

My husband can only do short rides around town due to serious back injury BUT he's an amazing mechanic and ride support person so it works out *perfectly*!

Congratulations to those newlyweds. I hope you remain cycle partners for many years to come! It is a wonderful thing to do together! Enjoy it and each other!!! My best wishes to you both.
I have been married to my DH for 36 wonderful years and we started as hikers and bikers (only for commuting, though). We camped and hiked on our honeymoon and then did alot of long distance hiking, kayaking, skiing, and 12 years ago, took up cycling again as empty nesters. It has become our passion. He is riding the Southern Tier right now (in central Texas) and I will ride GOBA in June. One of us has to be in town for his 90 yr old dad, so we take turns going on rides. This is his big year!!! I had three big years in a row and when he retired this year, it was his turn for a big ride. Our cycle days together will come soon enough and we will remember these times with his dad.

My husband starting riding in college and racing mountain bikes. For our first anniversary he took me to the bike shop to buy my first roadie. I am slow but he still is teaching me to mountain bike and hopes one day I will get the confidence I want to mountain bike race. We used to road ride together all the time but now I let him live his dream and train for racing, I just ride my ride. I do like to help him at races by being his super pit crew and cheerleader. It is great that we can talk about cycling though and we do ride together when we have time.

First of all- Congratulations on your marriage!
Although the man I maaried 37 years ago wasn't my cycling partner then, he is now and we cycle together as often as possible (work and life restraints etc.) and plan to do so well into our ripe old age and senility.

Congratulations to the Gowest & also to KenyonChris- Wonderful, happy pictures.
I will be celebrating 25 years with my DH next week. My DH has been running and cycling (mostly commuting) for 5 years, and cycling is something I started in the summer. We have had a variety of mutual interests over the years (birding, and music especially) but cycling together has has been a very positive force in our relationship and we have grown closer over the last year through our hours together on the bikes.

Love the LivesStrong wristband with the wedding dress!!
LOL! Yes, that got a lot of comments. My father died of cancer about 10 years ago. My DHs wife of 17 years died of cancer a few years ago. I wore it for them. My "something borrowed" was her earrings and necklace. His 10 year old daughter loaned her mom's (now hers) jewelry for me to wear if I wanted. I was honored to do that. All of us, even the 10 year old, raise money for Livestrong, and ride the Livestrong challenge every year.... DH runs Livestrong marathons. So on it stayed!

Yay!!! You make a beautiful bride. :)
I'm married to ONE of my cycling partners. He's too fast to be my all the time cycling partner, but when he wants to "take it easy" and pull the whole way, he rides with me. My main cycling partner is one of my best girlfriends, which is great. But it is definitely nice that my husband is so into the sport. He's the one who got me into it. We go to some events together, (where he waits for me at the end, while I ride with my friend) and we can talk bike talk all the time. And he maintains my bike and takes care of me in that regard. Just surprised me with a new Cannondale Super Six frame and SRAM Red shifters and derailers ... all put together with my previous components ... and the new Easton wheels he gave me for Valentines Day. Oh be still my beating heart!!!
Congratulations on your marriage. Happy riding to you both for many, many years to come!!! (Maybe YOU'LL get new wheels for Valentine's Day next year! Or some other awesome and very romantic bike part. Ha ha!!!) :D
Congratulations! And you are a beautiful couple!
Rollin' with my cycling partner now husband for a bit over five years now, and looking forward to many more miles together!
