Selling my old bike and I would like to get my Flight Deck off of it. I have my owner's manual, but do not see my question listed. The shop put it on for me when I bought the bike.

OK... so how do you get the sensors out of the hoods? Do you need to remove the hoods-shifters themselves to get the sensors off?

I had the tape off, and the plate open in the hoods to expose the sensors... but I couldn't figure how to get them out from there.

Does this (http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/SI/SI_6KD0C_001/SI-6KD0C-002-ENG_v1_m56577569830686067.pdf) help (section on Bracket and Lever Disassembly)?

I don't think you actually need to take the lever off, it doesn't look like it, it's just that that would be a prior step in the procedure if you were disassembling the whole thing. But maybe you do?

Thanks Oakleaf. I remembered there were technical documents on Shimano's web site somewhere.

Crud... it does look like you need to disassemble the shift lever body from the shift lever bracket. Ugh... that's more work that I wanted to mess with. And this is where I'm really saying I wish I had used my recent REI coupon & dividend for a workstand.
