I'm embarrassed to say that this game was played right in our home city. Probably not very far from home but I had no idea. (Obviously I'm unplugged from certain bike stuff! :o )

And dig this, pink pumps with cleats for cycling.

Forgive clueless me, if you are already aware of this site.
I guess the very sort handlebars make sense for that sport. It looks only slightly more insane than kayak polo, which I've played.

Still, I wished I had seen the game. I like the general web site, it's campy, etc., not totally cycling-fashionista, not all competitive cycling, etc.

Actually, I would love to play a game. Looks like fun.
And I LOVE those shoes. Those would be fun to wear on my commute. I'd love to see the guys faces as I pull up beside them at a traffic light and click out. :D

Am still trying to figure out how those pink pumps would not become loosened if they aren't on super tight nor have a cross-strap over foot.
DebW: What's kayak polo like? Do you bat around a beachball?
Ummmmmmm I think the pumps are a joke....
Of course I'll bet you could manufacture a pair of platform heels with a recessed cleat with a little ingenuity and a few tools.
There's pretty regular bike polo games around here - though not a specific women's league as far as I know. Single speeds are the norm for the ability to track stand and disc wheels so that you don't get a mallet in the spokes.
