Hey, I don't post much here but I know there are a lot of small women always on the look out for bikes. I am not even 5' tall and know how hard it is esp if you DO NOT want 650c wheels. After nearly three years on 650c wheels I was sick of it. IT SUCKED. I was determined to find a 700c bike that fit me. It seeemd as if the Specialzed was really my only option, but it wasn't. I just got a Jamis Race Femme in a size 44 and it fits amazing. I had my first ride on it today and I am in love. Way better than my old Cannondale. The top tube is 49cm so for those of you with a very short reach this bike is great. Just thought I would mention this as an option for the other shorter ladies. :D

congrats on the cute bike! Your take on the 650c wheels is a surprise though. What didn't you like about them?
enjoy your new bike.

I've only had one bike with 650 wheels and I hated it myself. Maybe it was more the bike than the wheels, but that bike got sold very quickly.
The jamis looks really nice!

Mixie, congratulations! Jamis makes very nice bikes and your Race Femme looks very sleek.

I say it's the geometry.

Yes, Jamis did a great job with the Geometry! I ordered this bike without a test ride but the geometry was almost identical to that of my 650c road bike which fit me pretty well.
I disliked the 650c wheels because I did not like being so much lower then everyone when riding in tight situations like fast group rides or crits. I am still lower but it's not nearly as bad. Then there is the whole limited options in tires/wheels, no latex tubes. Also, when racing with a wheels in/wheels out pit it kinda sux.

Hi Zen, is that your Jamis? Looks pretty - I like the color a lot :)
But... the top tube is very sloping, the way it brings the handlebar and seat close to each other seems almost scary!
Is it comfortable when you ride, does it give you enough room? And can you get in the drops and still be comfortable?
It's a tight cockpit but I have a short torso.
I feel more confident on that bike than any other bike I own.
I need the sloping TT because of limited flexibility in my hips.

I like Jamis bikes. That looks like a perfect fit for me. I do 49-50cm eTT.
Zen: is that steel with a steel fork???
Not that I need another bike....
