Jersey choices

My friend and I are planning on buying some new gear for a ride we have coming up at the end of summer. She isn't big on the traditional road style tight fit jerseys and thought maybe some of you MTBers could maybe chime in on some more loose fitting jerseys out there.

So far I've recommended FOX brand but don't know of many others.

I know not everyone who mountain bikes wears loose jerseys, but I'm sure there are some of you out there ;)

awesome! thanks so much for the help. I love the look of twin six's gear but have been holding out on buying because of $$$ but i'm starting work next saturday at a local shop that carries TONS of their stuff so :D

I hear ya on the money aspect. They certainly aren't cheap. But I do really think you get what you pay for. The quality is great and sometimes they have specials. If you are on Twitter, it is worth it to follow them and be in on any sales.

Most of my MTB buddies seldom buy expensive jerseys anymore... most (men and women) wear "fitness gear" (lightweight wicking shirts and t-shirts) you can get most anywhere. If you want quality stuff - Title Nine sells alot of shirts that can easily be used for cycling.

True. I wear mostly fitness/running shirts when I mountain bike. I use a camelbak, so I keep my tools and essentials in there as opposed to a pocket in my jersey. I rarely wear a jersey any more when on the trails.

cheap price Fox jersey... very basic... I own a couple.

The thing I actually like about this jersey for mtb, vs. any other jersey, or nicer fitness tops is the fabric. It's a polyester that is like a ripstock. For briars of young wild roses bushes over the trail, this material holds up. Cotton would survive, but doesn't wick, and sux for freezing to death wet with sweat.

I know you are asking about mtb to just get a loser fit. But, a lot of jersey brands will state, "tour or club" fit, vs. a "race fit" will be tight. Sometimes a "Betty fit" is like a polo, but some type of pocket for a few bike goodies.
