Do you do any of this often now?
Or has it changed in frequency now compared a few yrs. ago? Why?

It occurred to me that I've never had an interest in playing online games even long ago, even those as simple as online soltaire card game.

I still don't have an interest. And no, I never have and do not yet have an interest in video games. I can't explain it, yet I am highly visual in learning and exploring the world.

I used to play Battlefield 2 every spare moment I had (obligatory link to my stats here (http://bf2s.com/player/59650488/)). That all changed the moment I got on my bike. I last played BF2 over a year ago now. I used to be so proud of my BF2 stats. Now, I'm like "Eh, let's see if I can improve my average speed!". :D

I'm old school. Only briefly played some of the high-graphics console games. Give me card games (solitaire or multiplayer), NetHack, KenKen, crosswords, or Bejeweled. ;)

I used to spend every spare moment at the arcade. But even then, it was the old school games (man, I wish there was such a thing as a link to my Mad Planets high score ), not the newer high-graphics stuff.

When I was a kid I played Nintendo. But not for hours at a time like some kids do today.

I don't play games on the computer a lot. I do play "Scrabble" on facebook with my mom and a friend that lives out of state. I make one or two plays a day.

I don't have a lot of idle time. And if I do, I want to read or take a bath, relax. Watch the world out side a window. I get tired of looking at tv screens and monitors.

I play various solitaire games on my Palm before I fall asleep. Otherwise, I've played the Myst games on the computer. That's about it. I'm not interested in the multiplayer games at all.

Thom and I have played several computer games together over the years... Wizardry, Doom, Myst, a couple of versions of Wasteland. It's been a good rainy day pastime for us.

Right now we're into a board game - Carcassonne. I may have too many s's or n's in that. :D

Oh, we like Carcassonne too! We have the hunter-gatherer one, but we played the original (?) one with several add-ons during the Christmas holidays and managed to get severely confused.

Computer games - I don't play any now, but have gotten royally addicted to Myst and Tomb Raider in my time. I limit my monitor time to work and surfing now, more than that makes my eyes sore.

I like the somewhat shorter/smaller online flash games; especially the puzzle types.

Obligatory link to my Kongregate stats: http://www.kongregate.com/accounts/Unidentifiable

If you click "view all badges" ( or use this link: http://www.kongregate.com/accounts/Unidentifiable/badges ) I think you might be a bit disturbed over how much time I've put into it (there's 20 pages...) :o

I also play Spore very occasionally (like once or twice a year)

I have never allowed myself to get into computer games of any sort, actually.

I have a couple on my ipod for killing time in airports (sudoku, mahjong, etc) and we have a Wii mostly for social reasons, but other than that, I don't do computer/video games. I once spent all night trying to 'beat' minesweeper :o, so I purposely do not allow myself to get involved with any game anymore. And those types that run on and on and on and that you pause and save? Yeah, that would be a HUGE time suck for me.

I'd rather go outside (even in crappy weather). ;)

So those of you who don't do online computer games, wouldn't be using a Kindle like reading tablet much, right?

Just wondering.

I realize that there are certain web computer games where one forms virtual friendships with other players worldwide. But somehow I just prefer to interact with people online instead of via a "game"/fantasy world.

Or I like using the computer as a tool to learn more stuff about the real world. Or help me create something..ie. write, blog or teach someone online, etc.

I'm also a person who doesn't particularily enjoy card games. Monopoly is the only board game I've played with others. My dearie used to play certain card games heavily with others at university and with his children a long time ago.

Oh, I want a Kindle. But that's in spite of it being a monitor, not because of. Mostly because I'm a fast reader, and I'd enjoy being able to choose between different books without having to physically lug them all around when travelling.

But I'd prefer my own personal porter who would carry all the books I wanted in paper versions, though :D

I have spurts where I like to play games on the computer. Mostly I don't. The games that I have enjoyed are Spider Solitar, Chips Challenge, Pogo Scrabble, Facebook Scrabble, & online Crossword puzzles that tell me when I have the wrong word. When I worked in an office many years back our department had linked computers. On our break we would play hearts between four of us. That was really fun.

For the most part I don't spend a lot of time playing computer games or watching TV during the day. I can spend a lot of time on websites like this and another one that I go to alot, but I am trying to stop that as well because I should be using my time for other things (like riding my bike).

I like video games. Probably too much. I have been playing World of Warcraft for a couple of years now (!). I keep saying I'm going to stop, but it really does keep me from getting bored. Especially when my boyfriend leaves town on business. I have a good IRL friend who also plays WoW, which makes it more fun.

I used to play a LOT of Doom 2 as well. I don't dare get a playstation or a wii, I think that would be the end of my life.

Did you know they have Doom: Resurrection on the iPhone? I've played it to endgame a couple of times, it's an awesome timekiller away from home.

I do enjoy PS3 racing games and a few others, just a bit of fun.

No, never ever wanted to gamble, either on line or in real life.

PS1 and PS2 Colin McRae Rally games use to be brilliant fun.

I am somewhat addicted to my laptop during the evenings, I suppose I can still chat and occasionally look up at the TV.

I don't play online games. I have a wii, but find myself only doing the "EA active sports" 30 day challenges instead of playing anything. I will occasionally play a game like duke nukem or wolfenstein until I'm too carsick to play anymore, then I don't touch it again for months.
I do have a kindle that I read every day on the elliptical machine, and continue the book on the way home with the text-to-speech. The kindle screen isn't anything like a computer screen- I find it's easy on my eyes.

Despite my love of gaming, I don't have a lot of interest in the Kindle or other e-readers. Of course, my house is filled - filled! - with real live books. So many that I really need more bookshelves. So many that if I got kicked out of my house, I could just build a house of books.

Now my kid sister is in college and can get her books electronically, so she just has to carry her reader instead of 40 lbs of textbooks. That would have been nice.

I played Kingdom of Loathing for a while, several years ago.

A couple years before that (when I was in a seriously bad mental state) I played a zillion rounds of Ma Jong which was really matching, and not really Ma Jong.

I don't see much connection to wanting a Kindle.

Do your husbands play World of Warcraft? One of my friends has big problem - he is addicted this game... he plays all day long and can't stop :o
