My band's new cd has arrived!

It's pretty exciting news for me, and I just wanted to share it with you all:

My band, Round the House, has just released our 4th cd of "nearly traditional" Irish music. The title is "At This Stage". It's got some traces of our American musical accents, including contra dance influences, but for the most part, our material is Irish "trad". You can guess from my name on the forum, that I play fiddle in this group.

It will be on CD baby soon (where you can find the first three) - in less than 2 weeks..

It's somewhat bittersweet, as our guitarist is going to be moving away in the summer, and we have decided not to try to replace him. New musical paths will probably open for me after a while - but until then, I also have my new interest in cycling to distract me until that happens.

Is there a difference in the amount of royalties that you get when someone buys a CD, vs. downloading an album? If so, is that pretty standard, or does it just depend on the individual artists' and download services' contracts?

I found your Myspace page and am listening to your tracks on there. WOW...you guys are fabulous! I love Celtic fiddle-heavy stuff, anyhow (I was completely geeked to see Ashley MacIsaac on the Olympics opening ceremonies), but it's extra cool to hear musical gifts from a fellow athlete. :cool:

Our cds are self-produced- no record label involved, so it might be different in that case, but through CD Baby we get about the same amount if it's downloaded or purchased as a cd. If you purchase it directly from us, at a concert or by mail, we get a little more money.
