I know it's a long shot since I don't see many of these for sale but I'm looking for a Surly Crosscheck (color not an issue) size 46cm.

I'm looking more for a frame rather than a complete, but if you have a complete I would be interested in taking a look.

I live in Wisconsin but have paypal and everything so I'd be willing to buy on-line if through a paypal transaction so I have proof of payment, etc.

You can pm me on here or contact me via my e-mail that is checked several times daily.

Thanks!

What is your price limit?
(I know where you can get a 46 cm frame in excellent shape for about $400.)

Well it would kind of depend on the condition of the frame. I was thinking 350-375 for a frame in good condition. I guess it would also depend on if any extras came with the frame as well..

Then for a complete...I'm not sure, maybe 700 to 800. It's so hard to gauge since Surly hasn't changed much more than the colors over the years and I don't see many used on ebay, etc. The one's I have found were in my price range, just not my size.

My long-term build goal is to put Shimano 105 components on and switch the steel fork out for a carbon one.

I really want to be able to use it on the road and for cross if I choose to start doing races within the next couple of years.

Ah, so you want a frame and fork for that price.

Sorry, what I'm thinking of is only the frame. Brand new frames from Surly are about $400. The steel fork runs around $90. If you already have a carbon fork floating around, you are at least saved that expense.

My LBS has bare used frames now and then, but the price of purchase and shipping vs the price of just buying a new one probably wouldn't be much help.

I don't have one for sale, but a quick check of froogle.com (google.com's shopping search engine) turns up some new CC frames for $419.

We have bought things from Bikeman.
There were other places selling at that price too.

I'm keeping a casual eye out for a cheap 42cm CC frame.

Check www.bicyclebananas.com. I have purchased bikes from them and they are great. They have a bunch of different surly frames on sale. Good luck.

That's a nice price, frame and fork for $419.
(definitely better deal getting new than a used one shipped from a shop like my LBS, but I'll keep my eyes open for you anyway. You never know what you'll find!)
