So yesterday my brother is in from outta town and after completing a home repair project on my place we jump on the bikes for a lil spin...

It's 11AM when we leave and still overcast... but as we continue the sun breaks thru and it warms up to about 82 degrees... not bad... so we're cruising along and I feel sweat rolling down inbetween my breasts and it's tickling... so I push in on my jersey and bra top to soak it up... :)

that's about the same point that I hit the brakes as hard as I ever have... screech to a stop almost fishtailing and screeching STOP!!! at my poor brother who is now about 100 yds ahead of me...

by the time he turns around, I am at the side of the road wildly stripping off my jersey, cursing like a sailor (I know more obscenities than I thought I did!) and flashing gape mouthed passers by as they drive thru the intersection...

Yep, bee sting! Haven't been stung by a bee since I was 5 yrs old... so I get the half mashed bee outta my bra top with my poor brother standing there holding my jersey and then am able to pull the stinger out... ^%$%*&* bee!!! Why, oh why, not my upper arm or some other less delicate area? Nope, right between the knockers... OOOOOOUCH!

The good news is I'm apparently NOT allergic to bees

Finished the ride with 35 miles at 15.6 mph and a minor red welt... :o

OWWWWWWW!!! I feel for you I really do. Has the redness faded yet or is it a case of no low cut tops for a while? That bee must have really like you!!

What a save! Most would've wrecked then done the Bee Sting Jig Round the Bike. You had presence of mind.

That minor red welt would've been my third breast.

OMG! A boob bee... bwaahahhahahahahaha! :D Dangit, even I have to laugh at that...

fortunately today it is a minor red spot with a little stinging... but mainly cause my bra is rubbing it...

I think I gave new meaning to howling like a banshee too! :D Kudos and props to my bro for not laughing in my face... he dead panned it and was appropriately appalled on my behalf... :)

Believe it or not about 10 miles later we had to stop again as another bee landed under my left armpit... so I was riding along with one arm in the air to avoid squashing it.... apparently there will be no wearing of my new BRIGHT RED jersey in the summer time... :( I'm an avid gardener... I shoulda known better but just was't thinking... sigh... ;)

Ouch! I feel your pain! Literally! I 've been stung twice in the last month by yellowjackets while riding - one got caught in my sleeve, and one got me on the neck below my helmet. Wow, it really hurts, abnd it just comes totally out of the blue! And I think I was last stung about 30 years ago... Thank goodness you didn't wreck!

Ahhhh, memories. :p There is a short but steep hill on one of my normal routes that will forever be known as "Bee Sting Hill". I got a bee in my bonnet, stopped in the middle of the hill, and hucked my helmet...into the blackberries. Now that was dumb.

But I think of it every time I ride that hill!

Boob-bee Boulevard for you?

That is way too funny! :D Your story brought back memory of a bee that stung me on top of head through my freaking helmet. Honestly, I couldn't help it but was swerving like a mad woman and yelping and whacking my head. It was not pretty. I DO NOT want to know what drivers were thinking but most slowed down and kept their distance away from me.

OMG! At least with it between my boob-bees I could see and remove the stinger... HOW do you get the stinger out when you get stung on the head???

frankly I'm amazed and unsure how I didn't crash... I definitely fishtailed but somehow stayed upright...

I forgot to mention my bro flatted at mile 30 too... so we just cut it short at that point... between my stinging chest and the flat we were just outta steam...

Any bee landing between my boobs would have just flown on through - like a very small tunnel. :(

Oh crap, you have to get the stinger out??? I guess that's why I'm like this........ Naw, I had help to pull that sucker out but it was not easy. At least no one could see the bump! :D

Welll....if'n it was a yellow jacket (aka "meat bees"), the stinger is still in the bee, not you. Mine was of this variety. 'Course they sting AND bite, so if they get trapped in boob bee canyon (or in a helmet) they can get you over and over and over.
