Just did a freezing, sloshy, snowy, wet 11 miles on my mountain bike. I stayed on paved roads, about 50% of them dry and the other 50% not so much.
I forgot how much it aches and burns to ride outdoors! But it felt really good. Can't wait to do it again.

Feels good to move, doesn't it?
Are you getting the same weather we are (WI)? It is above freezing!!!!
This year, we've been limited to short rides on Friday afternoons with temps in the mid 20's. I'm looking forward to maybe getting in two longer rides this weekend if the forecast for 32 holds (keeping fingers crossed the trend continues for both of us).

Not my first ride of the season, but my first ride since the two back-to-back blizzards, and it was great! Yesterday my studded tires arrived and I put them on my cross bike. Of course it ended up being almost 40 degrees and sunny. I could have done without the 20 mph winds, but it was a beautiful day. So great to be out!! This "warm" spell is supposed to continue for a few days, so I think I'll get a couple of longer road rides in.

I just had my first ride yesterday too. I had been riding 3 times a week, about 15-17 miles each time until Dec. 23rd. There had not been much snow and the temperature had not been as cold as it usually gets here. But then along came snow and very dark days. I was thrilled to get in a ride after work yesterday, now that the days are getting longer. I would much rather ride after work with my husband than ride alone, although riding alone is better than not riding at all.I was amazed at how much bike fitness I had lost! I try to hike some hilly trails to keep my legs in shape, but it's not quite the same.
