I ran an 11 miler on Saturday that had that effect on me. We had planned to go out and do something that night, but DS is the only one who had any mojo that evening.

I love that feeling...and going to bed that night with your legs still tingling!

Yup, I know that feeling too!!!! But I can usually get my helmet off :-)
Shoe covers are another story. Sometimes I get back from a ride and am too exhausted to even think about trying to get them off. . . .

Been there done that except for the helmet. It's the first thing that comes off!
Great photo :D
Anyone else have the st. vitus dance at night thing going on? Over-excited nerves or exhausted muscles or something suddenly cramping and flinging an arm around and waking you up? Drives my dh nuts..

I sometimes have twitchy legs in bed --usually associated with hard riding--which annoys the heck out of dh. My doctor actually gave me something for my twitchy legs, but I don't like the way it makes me feel in the morning. Stretching the hammies, calves and quads before bed seems to help

I was having a lot of leg cramps at night when I increased my running mileage last year, until I started supplementing with more calcium/magnesium. Haven't had one since.

The helmet helped cushion my fall!!
Usually after a hard ride, I have the tingly tense feeling right in my hip flexors. I also noticed I'll sweat during the night usually after a ride, doesn't really matter what time during the day I rode either. I don't know what that is all about!

LMAO! That's so funny cuz it's so familiar! It would be perfect to add in a little bubble over your head with the sound of you hitting the couch, "Boooooffff." :D

I experienced that yesterday. Did 44 really hard miles. Was proud of my speed. Came in and was standing in the kitchen trying to figure out what to do, which is supposed to be easy. Get the recovery drink out, mix it and drink it. But my brain wasn't working too well and I realized I had an overwhelming need to NOT be standing anymore. I sat at the kitchen table and buried my head in my arms on the table. Dh came in, who also did the ride, and says, "Are you okay?" .... "Mm hmm" is all I could muster.
I was SOOOO wiped all day. Luckily I didn't have to be anywhere and laid like a slug on the couch the rest of the day. However, today, I did a much harder ride with the most climbing I've done all year, over 3,000 in 39 miles, immediately after yesterday's hard ride ... and did NOT feel nearly as wiped out after. Weird.
So yeah ... I can totally relate. :)

Wow! Good work. Those sounds like similar rides to what killed me. Of course, I didn't do it two days in a row. So good work!
